If it's associated with Ashford Castle, it's first class! The George V dinner area is almost always booked way in advance but this fits the bill for ambiance, service and of course, food offerings. We've had the local beef and fresh caught fish from the largest lake in all of Ireland, Lake Lough.Dear Tom J,We are thrilled to read you enjoyed your evening in our Dungeon Restaurant.Thank you for sharing your comments. Going on reviews, we (two couples) booked in for dinner last night.Have to say that we weren't over-impressed. The atmosphere is great, and the staff very friendly. Our young waitress was particularly good. The food - sirloin steak, fish and chips, and salmon (2) was ok. It was let down by dry, powdery-tasting chips, and by being rather over-priced - not least the ice cream at 6.95 euros.A bit disappointing really.

We tried to book lunch at Ashford Castle and the only thing available was lunch at the Cullen's restaurant in the castle. We were not disappointed. The food was exquisite, the service was superb. True the place is expensive, but our experience couldn't have been better than it was. All worth it. Would go back again.Dear STEWART L,Thank you for the time you took to share your feedback. We are delighted to learn you had an enjoyable visit and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.Sincerely,

Place with special history; because we live near by Valkenburg in Holland, we asked the owner about the name and we got to know the interesting history !

Four years since my last visit but still the same warm welcome. A party of six of us had a lovely meal . I decided to try the lamb chops, 3 large chops cooked to perfection with mash potato and mint gravy. Large portions and loads of veg. Hope it's not so long until our next visit.

Went with some friends to get sunday lunch. We were moved seats, then while eating got asked to leave within 5 minites although we were still eating. Servers were unwelcoming, unfriendly and highly rude whilst we were there. Will not be returning again to this establishment. Food and beverages are also highly overpriced.
