Find out what International restaurants to try in Ayutthaya. Built just to the east of the spectacular ruins of the capital of the Ayutthaya kingdom, a Siamese power destroyed by Burmese invasion in the 18th century, Ayutthaya is a modern Thai city studded with archeological wonders. Headless Buddhas and crumbling but still-beautiful reliquary towers and wats give evidence of the majesty of the civilization that was once centered here.
Things to do in Ayutthaya
We went for coffee (and sweets), ordered everything. They served cake and ice-cream and told us the coffee machine was broken. Strange way of treating customers. When we saw the coffee machine, one thing was sure: They are absolutely unprofessional and have no idea about coffee. Sorry. This is just an ice cream place - nothing else.

Absolutely delicious chicken satay. Springrolls were greasy and not very interesting. The weirdest part is that, with only about 3 or 4 tables, half the guests are literally eating IN the street. Luckily, traffic isn't too bad.

Let me say first of all: I am struck by the great difference of opinions on this restaurant, a difference which isn't usual. No doubt true that it is fueled by customers with tuktuk drivers that direct here. We too (we were seven people) were directed here by our tuktuk driver, with whom we negotiated (at a good price) a half-day tour of the Ayutthaya central temples. But we can not complain about what we ate, and even about the value for money. We ordered some mixed plates that were on the menu, and we have appreciated them: vegetable soups, shrimp soups, salad with cashews nuts. Nothing particularly memorable, apart from a nice stewed fish: I can not remember its name, it was so big that it was enough for all seven, and the waiter kindly arranged to open and cut for us. The price, compared to what we paid for the whole of our trip to Thailand, seemed us fair: 1800 THB all inclusive.

I would like to review this bar and restaurant as I have really good time here. People were very friendly
Visited here for dinner, original plan was to go next door but it was shut. Friendly enough staff when seating us and bringing menus over, but terribly slow service after that. We ordered Chang Burgers ( i know, but we'd had Thai for lunch) it took at least 40mins to arrive. We sat and waited with two empty glasses for over half an hour, even with the staff serving the next table they never noticed, even after i asked for another drink they forgot! The burgers were bad though, real cheap patties, extra strong onion, plastic cheese and some mushroom that tasted like it had been cooked in shoe polish. Just not great, paid up and left.
