Axminster is a market town and civil parish on the eastern border of the county of Devon in England, some 28 miles (45 km) from the county town of Exeter. The town is built on a hill overlooking the River Axe which heads towards the English Channel at Axmouth, and is in the East Devon local government district. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 5,626, increasing to 5,761 at the 2011 census. The town contains two electoral wards (town and rural) the total sum of both wards being a population of 7,110. The market is still held every Thursday.

Went as a multi generational family to one of their lunches on a Saturday. Wonderful, inventive and inspiring dishes which were presented well with obvious care and consideration for their provenance. Outstanding value for money and am looking forward to a return visit. Only problem we had was finding trill farm but easy once we consulted the website and not satnav- doh!

Welcoming tea and cake pit stop during our travels around Dorset and Somerset looking for family history. Particular mention to the many gluten free cake options for my coeliac husband. I rarely give five stars but, based on our experience on Monday, Bath House deserves it.Lovely staff, great service and good food - one of the best Beef Rendangs I've had in years and my mussels to start were also good. The MemSahib had very good scallops and a lovely chicken breast in a wild mushroom cream sauce. Okay wine list. So far a good four star experience - but anyone who chases after me half way down the street to return my phone (duh!) deserves an extra star IMHO.

This hotel restaurant was outstanding in setting, food, service and ambience. We ate there one night and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The last night was voted to eat there again. Not the least expensive, but all was beautifully prepared and presented. Dining room is lovely with a garden behind the large windows. We watched the sunset as we ate. We were not hotel guests but thought it was a beautiful hotel restaurant.
