Find out what International restaurants to try in Antananarivo. Built on a narrow, rocky ridge, Antananarivo occupies a strategic point at the center of the island of Madagascar. Two forts watch over the city from the east and southwest, while within the city limits lay royal palaces, embassies, some fifty churches and a mosque. The city's most distinguishing feature may be the burnt out remains of the Rova, or Queen's Palace, situated on a prominent hill. Its steep alleys and stairways make Antananarivo a challenging but rewarding city to explore on foot.

Refined and Modern cuisine for lunch and dinner. Malagasy speciality for Saturday's lunch.

I was staying at the Hotel Louvre and decided to try the 313 Restaurant. The service was excellent and very friendly. I did not speak fluent french (although I tried a terrible version of franglais) and they were very kind to me, and patient.I will say that there was a bit of a language gap and I would have tried harder next time. I ordered wine (in English) but that was never brought. It was definitely my fault and I should have tried again. The staff was very attentive and efficient.I ordered the honey glazed ribs and they were just okay. I should have picked something else, but the scalloped potatoes were excellent! The creme brulee was also just okay and tasted a bit like scrambled eggs. Definitely not the creamy custard I'm used to. I think the dish was heated too quickly? or perhaps it was too shallow?Anyway, it was an average meal.

The Orion is a restaurant with a capacity of forty covers, which also features a private room, in a business district. The Orion offers European or Asian cuisine, including fresh seafood and Chinese fondue. In a quiet setting, come to spend a pleasant time
Dined at the L'Orion several times during my short stay in Antananarivio ( Palm Hotel ) the food and service was first class,a clever mixture of traditional Malagasy and Chinese cuisine. The sea food dishes were exceptionally good.Below the resteraunt there is a themed Bento resteraunt providing lunche where you can order pizza , burgers plus Malagasy food.If you stay in the capital this resteraunt is certanly worth a visit.Ask to talk to Madame Caroline she was always happy to help and offer advice

Located in the Relais des Plateaux hotel, this restaurant offers tables indoors or out by the pool. Nice lunch and snack menu, and an even nicer dinner menu. Great cocktails - creative and wonderfully refreshing. Food was made to order, so while not speedy, it was quite fresh and well prepared. Portion sizes were not too big but not too small. Overall, a good value.

Our visit to Le B was rather disappointing. Despite being promised that our intial menu pick was available, it subsequently emerged that it wasn't. The agneau/lamb dish was simply ordinary without any shiver of excitement that something special had been served-up and the way over-priced wine was under-qualified. Some starters seemed to arrive after the mains : quirky, I guess. Most other reviewers seem to fare better : there are always off -nights.

During my last stay in Madagascar went for dinner at the Kudeta Restaurant. Very good food served there along with a nice service except that the waiter got confused at a few of our orders and brought grilled vegetables for all those who have asked for fries or sautéed potatoes
