There are MANY Indian/Nepali restaurants in Yokosuka - this is absolutely the best one. The staff all speak English, the restaurant is quite spacious and incredibly clean, and the lunch sets are cheap with plentiful food. Absolutely phenomenal curries. Skip the other Indian joints and just go here!

Sorry Mom... I found a place that does better Beef Curry Rice than you. After reading a number of foodie reports from expatriates about this "Mom & Pop" place, seeing a YouTube interview of the owner talking about "warship curry", and wanting at least one of the unique curry spoons that the owner designed, I made it a point to have lunch here after my Mikasa Park visit. The place is rather on the small side, with enough room to possible hold around 16 or so diners at once. The interior is pretty much a naval buff's pop-culture dream, with photos of Japanese warships of many time periods, JSDF merchandise, the warship girls of the KanColle (Fleet Collection) franchise, and the famous curry spoons. There were three lunch specials on that day, and I chose the signature "Yokosuka Kaigun (Navy) Curry" set meal (the others were Keema Curry and a special "Battleship Yamato Teriyaki-Taste Meat Curry"). The set meal consisted of a generous portion of beef curry with vegetables poured over rice, a small salad, and a carton of milk (just like back in school). There were also pitchers of ice water for each table as well. I have had many meals of beef curry rice in my life, and I must say that this definitely had the "home-cooked" taste down right. While I normally would not being having milk with beef curry rice, the flavor of this curry worked very well with it. I also did a test drive between a normal spoon, and one of the special curry spoons. The curry spoon seemed to do a better job at scooping the curry rice than a regular one, and also seemed to have a more ergonomic feel to it. I ended up purchasing 2 of them and was given a little present from the owner's wife in the form a drink coaster with a Japanese warship image on it. There was a line of people waiting outside as I left, so the popularity of this place is certainly true. Now, I wanted to rate this as "Excellent", but because there seemed to be a restriction as to how many diners are allowed to enter the place at one time (3 at opening, then later 4 after that), leaving a more than a few to stand outside waiting in the heat, I had to take it down one level. I'm not sure if this only happens at the opening for Lunch, but I thought it best to put that caveat out there.

Look for the line out the door. Thereâs a reason to wait if you like Japanese style curry. About 16 stools at the cooking counter. More than a dozen curry combinations, all made to order, medium or hot. English menu will be handed to you with a smile. Lotsa âtastyâ pictures to help you decide. Enjoy!

Gorka Palace is one of our top choices when looking for curry in Yokosuka. Fast, friendly, service and the food is always on point. I adore the garlic naan bread and prefer going for lunch because Iâm so full, I often skip dinner.

What a wonderful surprise to follow my nose to this delicious Hideaway for Nepalese & Indian food. Extra care was evident in the clean and comfortable decor, polite serving staff. Also a chef's skill in making sauces to order of mild, normal or very spicy! It was just right for me at medium. I had the spinach curry and butter chicken in the "ladies set up. Hit the spot!
