The Milton Keynes area has lots of great Indian restaurants but Himalaya Tandoori has (in my opinion) some of the best chefs. Their Dhansak dishes are brilliant. I have eaten here with family and friends and also with large groups of work colleagues. The food is great. The pricing is very reasonable. The staff are helpful and courteous. Highly recommended for eat-in or takeout.

Had a terrible meal and service last year there however thought Iâd give it another go with a takeaway as we had friends around. Service on collect was ok this time but food was awful again. 4 out of 6 of us where sick with stomach problems during the night and day after. Iâm afraid Purple mango no more chances. Will never go back again.

We tried this place a few months ago because a booking we had made elsewhere had been cancelled and I decided to look up Indian restaurants near me on Tripadvisor. I am sometimes suspicious of fabulous reviews for Indian restaurants because you wonder whether some of the reviewers may be related to the owners :-)Anyway, I looked up the menu and could see they had some really interesting and unusual dishes including more fish than most of the other local Indian restaurants. So I called and made a booking and was greeted by a really friendly voice which made me feel really welcome. We then set the sat nav because we had never been to the area where the restaurant was before. When we arrived we were a little concerned. The road where the restaurant is looks a little run down. However, when we walked inside the smiles and the welcoming and friendly team made us feel much more confident and comfortable. This restaurant is very small inside so on a Saturday night when we go out it can get quite busy. Mind you, we've never failed to get in at 7pm. The team were very chatty and helpful and catered well for my better half's wheat intolerance. I have to say that the wine is also excellent value. We have a lovely Crianza Rioja for only £15. I have paid over £20 for similar wine in other restaurants. Please don't tell them :-)Every dish we have had at the Rose of India is beautifully cooked and not as oily as many other Indian restaurants. I've had the Tandoori Monkfish several times and it's always very generous, really tasty and cooked to perfection. So please don't be put off by the position of the restaurant. It's well worth stepping inside. You will be very well looked after and enjoy some of the best Indian food I have ever had in Milton Keynes.Since finding the Rose of India it's become our favourite Indian restaurant and we must have been there at least 7 or 8 times now. We've never had a bad meal. We took some friends there this week who are real Indian food lovers. They were full of praise for the quality of food and service. A very nice touch at the end of the meal is that all the ladies are presented with their own fresh red rose.Keep are the good work, you're brilliant!

We visited Dinajpur in Fenny Stratford recently and the quality of the food was exceptional, one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in years. We chose a good selection of dishes including the vindaloo which was both spicy and hot, although do like it a bit hotter. Will definitely be visiting again very soon.

Visited last night with Julie and about another 40 regular customers to the opening of the refurbished Ganges Lounge. The guys had laid in some great traditional food and good night was had by all. It was great to see all the staff so proud of this fantastic restaurant. And all the guest are considered as friends not customers. If youâve never been give it a try. Iâve been to probably every Indian in MK and this is the only one I ever return to. By far the best Indian restaurant in MK

The menu has sections that say speciality, chefâs recommendations and something else thatâs difficult to distinguish. Plus, having not grown up in India or the U.K., Iâm not well versed in Indian cuisine names, so it was completely difficult to understand their long menu.We asked to multiple servers but after the explanation it was not any easier! In any case the orders we more or less blindly made happened to be good. So, an agreeable place with some good food but I donât think I can really judge.

On a mission trying every curry house around these parts and mostly disappointed but I think I have found the only true curry palace yesterday evening. To be honest I booked the Jalori a few doors down but when we arrived it was completely empty so backtracked to Sands Brasserie (formerly Woburn Fort) and so glad we did. Greeted by a big smile from Musa and sumptuous smells wafting around the cosy restaurant. Clientele raving about the food and service and rightly so. Nothing was too much trouble, very flavoursome and very well spiced food. They say on their website 'Once you step through the doors of Sands Brasserie, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. We will spoil you for choice with our extensive menu' and they certainly do. Highly recommend the chicken methi - it was divine! Strongly suggest book as its bijou and once word gets around you won't get a table for weeks!
