Saw all the great reviews on this place, and I love me some Indian food! We ordered the paneer appetizer, it was delicious. I had the paneer tikka masala, my boyfriend ordered a chicken dish I cannot recall. The food was good, fresh. The reason for only 3 stars was the service. We ordered drinks before the appetizers, the waitress forget. We also ordered naan, the food came, she said the naan would be right out. 10 more minutes, no naan. I asked the bus boy to see about our naan.. finally, 15 min into my dinner we get the naan. The naan was under cooked! Naan is one of the things I look forward to when enjoying my meal, not after my meal. I was disappointed. I will probably not be coming back to this Indian restaurant.

We ordered veg platter and it tasted so oily that we left it all. Thought the butter chicken gravy might be good, it was as bad as the starter. I won't suggest this place to anyone.

Hard to find in the vast wasteland of Southcenter. Four of us arrived 7:30 PM on a Saturday. few diners. Nondescript decor. Our hostess was pleasant and cared about our experience. We shared butter chicken, lamb biryani, sag aloo, cauliflower nan and plain nan, a small sampling of house made sweets. All dishes were fresh and very tasty. At $25 a couple an outstanding value. They have an all you can eat $10.99 lunch buffet which judging by the labels on the empty pans would be quite worthwhile.

We were ultimately disappointed with SPICE KING. Like others with low reviews, we had high expectations. I can't speak to authenticity. However, for comparison: if you like Taste of India in the U District, this will disappoint. One one hand, the Tandoori grilled items we sampled were more like "plain bbq", lacking much flavor and somewhat dry. But the Baingan Bharta was overly seasoned to the point of being salty and undesirable. The Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer were average, as was the Naan - not that great.

All of the dishes we had were tasty and plentiful. Great for sharing. My favorite was the Chicken Tiki Marsala (âbutter chickenâ). The garlic naan was very good, too.! Service was excellent for our group of 8. With curries, itâs good that our water glasses were always full. Our family has been here many times - always good.
