We visited this restaurant whilst on holiday in the area on a Saturday night. The restaurant car park is small so we had to park on a residential street nearby. The restaurant upon entering was very hot, busy and slightly cramped. The food was quite good and the nan bread quite special and different, however the meat dishes were much the same as other Indian restaurants. It was only upon ordering food we discovered that the restaurant is alcohol free and you need to bring your own alcohol. As others have stated this does need to be stated online/website and maybe upon booking, especially as the area has transient customers on holiday who may not know this. We had to settle with soft drinks instead. There were lots of loud groups and large tables and with the restaurant being so small and tight along with the loud groups in tables closely it doesn't make for the most relaxing of meals.

Did you know? Despite not being an Indian restaurant, The Journeyman was recently shortlisted at the British Curry Awards and voted in The Independent Newspaper's survey of the top 50 restaurants to eat curry in the UK! Our location on the historic Saint'
Really looked forward to visiting here but was a bit disappointed as the food was average, the service was excellent and the waitress friendly and observant to checking our needs for wine, extras etc. Very clean, didn't like the lights directly over the tables. Scruffy car park and gravelly walk along lane to the entrance with quite a few steps to the door.

The Maharajah restaurant which was established in 1980 is open from 5.30 pm until late, seven days a week. The restaurant is the only real Indian restaurant in Newquay (and possibly Cornwall) here you will find traditional Indian food served in a restaura
Me and my family were here tonight. Incredibly beautiful restaurant. I admit,I was a bit wary and sceptical when viewing from the outside but one arriving a was pleasantly surprised. Decor looks beautiful. Drinks & starters were brought out very quick and so were the mains. Food is absolutely delicious. Weâre all feeling bloated (I asked them for the remainder of my food to be wrapped for me to take home) The staff are so so helpful, kind, considerate and friendly and helped to make our night perfect.
