We were taken by our family to the newish Namaskar restaurant situated in the Bliss resort , near to Nyali Centre for one of our last nights in Mombasa and initially we had high hopes when entering. Lots of money had been spent on the decor, design, water features etc but unfortunately these high hopes were not realised. The young lady server was the best feature of the place, very pleasant, helpful and accommodating but the food did not live up to expectations. The prices of the individual dishes were very reasonable but the standard was lacking. Seated and orders taken we had some lassi to quench our thirst. First there was no mango to make mango lassi! Then the salt lassi when it appeared had a very strange taste and had to be sent back. We settled for bottled sodas. Various chicken dishes were delivered, albeit at a very slow pace and none of them were exceptional, very average at best. The salad to accompany the meal also had a very strange off-taste, not very nice at all. ! What was wrong? How can fresh salad have such a weird taste? Anyway, the chilli chips were edible and the chicken and fish fingers for the youngest member of our group seemed to be OK. The dessert of gulag jamun was ordinary. Dense and stodgy, lacking in syrup. Service was good and was far better than the food. Not somewhere where I would want to return to.

Karoga currently seems to be the most popular Gathering Hole to quench your thirst in the evening after "Baada Ya Kazi". There is ample parking and various sitting types available mostly open which is a welcome break from the typical closed sitting rooms.The place offers Kibanda type of sitting for " Karoga" (means to MIX) where a group of people can cook their own food on JIKO's ( charcoal stoves). All the spices, vegetables (chopped), utensils are provided by the placle. Visited the place multiple times during my visit but did not get a chance to really check out the food menu.Finally lots of chilled Beer available which is also served in Chilled Glasses.

My wife has had an eye on coming to this restaurant especially as she made the photoprops for the opening of the place.So Valentines dinner was the perfect opportunity to have a meal here. The place is cosy with wall decors of old Msa pics.Friendly staff who will guide you to the menu too. We had ordered pizza as starter and a fish & prawn dish as mains. We ordered dinner 2 times from this restaurant. Both nights the meals were amazingly delicious. We have chicken briyani, chapatti stuffed mutton, chicken tikka and margarita pizza. The delivery was fast and all food properly packed and still very warm when it arrived. Price was also good.

It is basically an out and out non vegetarian restaurant. Had to be there as part of a team. But the staff understood my limitations and needs and adjusted wonderfully. The first visit acquainted them with my food habits and subsequent visits prompted the staff to take care of my needs with enthusiasm without asking. Very good place for a good lunch.
