Reviews on Indian food in Sanur, Denpasar, Bali. The postcard-perfect beaches of Sanur are truly idyllic, the realization of all those daydreams about Bali beach vacations. More laid-back than neighboring vacation destinations, Sanur is the type of place where hip Europeans who have outgrown the party scene come to recharge. Every year, the endless blue skies are peppered with flecks of vibrant color during the International Kite Festival.

My husband visited this restaurant a few days ago and although the lady running the place was lovely, that unfortunately is the only nice thing I can say. We are huge fans of Indian food and eat lots of it. This was food was less than mediocre, very oddly spiced and expensive. The meat was all thigh and contained small bones and gristle. However my main issue with this restaurant, which caused me to write this comment was the fact that I have just recovered from 4 days of severe food poisoning, the symptoms started quite soon after leaving. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

Located in a small side street with a slightly gruff host (who is rushed off her feet with diners and take out orders) this is Balinese rustic so donât expect five stars. But, the food is exceptionally tasty and the cheese paratha to die for!! We come back every visit and had a slap up meal and Bintang for less than $30!

My wife and myself visit Sanur, Bali each year sometimes twice in one year and as part of the selection of evening meals we look for a great Indian curry. The selections of restaurants has been limited to a couple of very ordinary Indian restaurants close to our hotel over the years of visits up until now where an original South Indian chap named George has opened up a great little restaurant in Jalan Tamblingan called Curry in Bali. We went last night as our second visit and had a great authentic meal. George was there and introduced himself, very friendly and original. So if you want a great Indian meal at value for your rupiah and an entertaining and original âmaitre dâ then this is the restaurant for you. George even suggests that the various spices used in the luscious meals are imported from a family plantation in Southern India. How original can you get. Go and enjoy. Leon and Fay the curry lovers.Dear Leon and FayIt was great to meet you and thank you for your repeat visits.
