Find out what Indian restaurants to try in Pondicherry. Pondicherry’s bougainvilleas, crumbling cathedrals and leafy boulevards might occasionally make you wonder if you’re in the south of France instead of a former French colony. But it's also unmistakably Indian, with colorful festivals, the famous monument of Aayi Mandapam, and the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Quiet beaches stretch north and south from town, good for swimming and sunrise strolls.

We are trying to bring North India under one roof, with a twist of fusion to surprise the taste buds. With a delectable (though limited but constantly changing) spread of food and beverage options, consult us for choosing the right dish/drink.Care has bee

Reading the reviews, I had great expectations from the place but was disappointed that it was not upto the mark. The south Indian food was very average and the North Indian food was not done well at all. I would avoid this place and try something else instead

As with all CGH Earth hotels, local sourcing makes for variety and freshness. This is particularly true of our sea food at Palais de Mahe. Our chefs personally select the day's serving from the incoming boats at the harbor nearby, planning their recipes a
Nice ambience on a rooftop outside terrace but service poor (waited ages for an order to be taken and then for the food to arrive) and when it did it was just average. Would not return. Went for a dinner. Food is good. Their special menu is interesting. Though the prices are on the higher side. The service staff is courteous and prompt but are always in a hurry to ask for the next order. Their cauliflower dosa, wheat paratha, stuffed ceylone paratha were good. Surely worth a visit for those who like vegetarian food.

An experience not to be forgotten. An evening in Shyamaâs home and kitchen. Not only did we watch her make 6 or 7 dishes, she had prepared several other dishes in addition which were fabulous. Far too much to eat.Cleanliness and organisation superb. We sat down for an amazing selection of Indian cuisine. Excellent hospitality and Shyamaâs knowledge of Indian cooking was unlimited, not to mention her charming disposition. If you are a foodie, a place not to miss if you are in Pondicherry.

Late evening dinner. Ordered Cesar salad, Steak with Red wine sauce and a plate of Momos. Nice salad with juicy chicken. Soft tender steak with good tasting sauce and perfect French fries. The momos was not like Delhi style momos, but stil nice tasting. All topped up with very friendly staff that made you feel more than welcome.

We had dinner at la Villa Shanti earlier this week. While the location is a nice court yard setting - the courtyard has been redone in modern style. Service was helpful and attentionate, menu and food was reasonably good - but not exceptional (see posting on La Villa). Prices as everywhere in Pondichery were very reasonable.

Hi,If u visit Pondy, and looking for chettinad authentic restaurant then ur only choice is Kamatchi Hotel bcoz u cant find anyother better restaurant in Pondy than this. As Iâm a frequent visitor to Pondy, I have tried to find several restaurants in Pondy. But mostly I failed or the one which I found is not satisfying me.But the only hotel which never spoil my expectation is Kamatchi Hotel. They have 3 branches inside Pondy but I always prefers to goto there main branch in Kadalur Road. If u go on weekends, u have to wait for minimum 15 mins to get seat. That tells u the food they serve.I recommend u to taste Nattu Kozhi Briyani & Prawn Briyani. If its main course, then u can try Prawn Kamatchi, Chicken Kamatchi & Mutton Chukka. They are best & trying hard to maintain there quality.
