Authentic quality Indian food form experienced chefs, creating a traditional atmosphere
After reviewing the menu online I couldn't see anything that was identified as Vegan so I called the restaurant and they assured me that they could definitely do some dishes as Vegan. Upon arrival the waiter was unsure of even what Vegan meant?! but I asked to speak to the person I spoke to on the phone and we went through the menu and a couple of dishes could be made vegan. I opted for a vegetable vindaloo with plain rice. It was good and a reasonable price but in this day and age and with the popularity of plant-based diets the staff should be abreast of what this constitutes and explicitly adding items to an online or printed menu would go away to attracting those on such dietary needs.

Open on Boxing day evening, so was able to pick something up on our way back from the lights at Longleat. Quick service, generous portions and very tasty! No complaints at all and had a very nice chat with the owner to boot.

Visited with family whilst working locally. Located in centre of town, 2 minutes from railway station and local pubs etc. Doesnât look much from outside but decor inside is modern and smart.Service we received was prompt and friendly. Food was good, could have been a little spicier but hey overall very nice. Matar Paneer wasnât great and not what I was expecting- no chunks of cheese but only a mild criticism.Kingfisher and Cobra on tap or you can bring your own drinks at no charge!!

My husband and I discovered this restaurant only recently and were very impressed with it. The ambience inside is lovely including a living garden feature by a local supplier and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The food though is amazing - everything is freshly cooked with quality ingredients which is very noticeable. Weâve been back since and would definitely recommend it.

My friends and I met for an early Saturday evening meal. We were made welcome and received excellent service throughout. The food was lovely, hot and tasty. My chicken tikka was cooked to perfection. We all agreed that Cafe India will be visited on a regular basis. Thank you.

UPS!!! Big thumbs down for me. Having explained I am celiac before booking the table, so no wheat and gluten and, asked for the waiter to recommend dishes on the menu for me when ordering......two dishes were whipped away in quick succession on arrival at the table by other waiters who had overheard my earlier conversations and considered what had arrived had wheat in....found out there was very little to choose from in the end.Very disappointed.

Went on a Sunday lunchtime and we were the only diners. Service friendly and food good, but general approach very sloppy. There were no tandoori dishes available because the tandoori oven had not been heated up for an expected quiet service time - which is ironic, given the restaurant's name! So - no tandoori/ tikka dishes, no naan bread. I was promised "some nice bread" instead, but was served up with a paratha, which, although very tasty, is a fried item, rather than a baked item. None of the staff were wearing any kind of uniform - all in t-shirts, jog-bottoms & trainers. There was a Henry hoover in the middle of the floor when we arrrived, and was still there when we left. At the end of the meal, it transpired that the card machine was not working (and hadn't been for some time). We were invited to walk to the nearest ATM instead. One guy was walking up and down the restaurant, talking loudly to someone on his phone in between serving us. Overall an impression of not-really-bothered to see us. Not impressed, which is a shame as the food was generally quite good.

Lovely Lamb Naga and brilliant that you can bring your own wine. Brilliant service. There were lots of families with children here when we visited, they had high hairs too.

Indian cooking at its best. if you like fresh local produces a fusion of the best cuisines from all over India, and enjoy being served by attentive and knowledgeable staff in contemporary surrounding then you're in for a treat.
Used this restaurant for our default Indian takeaway for a while now. Visiting the restaurant for the first time was a whole new experience. EXTREMELY friendly staff who were more than happy to offer advice and even change parts of the dish. Would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone in this general area. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful meal.
