Last night 28th April, 5 loud drunken, shrilling women ruined our evening. We asked 2 staff members to discreetly talk to these women, they didn't. These women had no respect for the other diners in the restaurant. Diners on our side of the restaurant left within half an our of the women arriving. if we hadn't been with friends we would have left within 5 minutes of talking to the staff. To top it off a new chef was on and food wasn't up to its normal standard. We can cope with the food issues as this happens from time to time in restaurants but not rudeness from other diners. At least one of the women seemed to know the owner of the restaurant and he should have had a quiet word with them. As a regular patron of Cafe Saffron I will not be returning

We went with family on a visit to their favourite gluten free restaurant. It was promoted as gluten free modern Indian cuisine. I was interested but this quickly turned to amazement when took my first mouthful of gnocchi in a tomato based sauce. It was hands down the best gnocchi I have ever eaten. My wife had food envy, however, she claims her tandoori lamb course was terrific and was very happy with her choice. Both children in our group were thoroughly enjoying their meals. The wine list is limited but covered all tastes and we enjoyed a bottle of Pinot Gris. All in all a magnificent discovery and will certainly dine there every time I visit Melbourne. It lives up to its name - DELHICIOUS

Been walking past this restaurant for years, we decided to go for dinner and boy, what amazing food they serve. Vegetable samosa's delicious, curries excellent, rice and naan. What a great surprise and now we have a new place to visit. It was quite busy and the takeaway didn't stop.Staff fast, efficient and courteous.Restaurant quite comfy and spacious. Tucked away in a back street of Heidelberg. Highly recommended and we will return.

Have been to this place every Onam sadhyaa and they never fail to satisfy our soul with tasty traditional spread right from the divine city of Kerala. Payasam replenishes your taste buds and is so tasteful that we couldn't stop with even 3 serves. Service and people are welcoming and you always feel home.
