I used to be a very regular customer but no longer live nearby. Recently, some friends and I ordered a delivery. We had a range of dishes. Dansak, Massala, Bhuna, Tikka and Begum Behar. We had bhajis, rice and breads as well as poppadoms and the usual sauces and pickles. It was absolutely gorgeous. Friendly service, reasonable prices, great food and fast delivery. One of the best in Gloucester.

Where to eat Bar food in Gloucester: The Best Restaurants and Bars

I popped in for a takeaway at about 9pm on a Wednesday night. There was just one guy there, who I presumed to be staff, sat at a table in front of the bar playing on his phone. He didn't look up. Didn't acknowledge me or even glance in my direction. I sat on a sofa by the door and studied the menu. 10 minutes later he still hadn't looked up from his phone, let alone offered to take an order, so I got up and walked out. I didn't look back but doubt even that distracted him. It was probably the first treatment I'd ever received in a restaurant. I won't set foot in there again and, based on that experience, I would advise you not to either. Unless you get off on being ignored, AVOIDThank you Tim for your review!Firstly the etiquette for each takeaway/restaurant is different but the guidelines are roughly the same. If you were sat down studying the menu - I would presume you are not ready to order. You are expected to come to the counter when you are ready to order, we do not, like a select few restaurants, come to the waiting area to take your order as our equipment is located at the counter (calculator, card machine, cash register etc).Secondly, the individual you presumed to be staff may not have been staff at all, simply asking if he/she works there would have put your mind at ease. Also, had you noticed the sign and the bell on the counter which reads "ring for attention" a member of staff would have been with you before you know it. Please do not punish us (small businesses) for a bad experience based on presumptions, your review does a lot more harm than you realise. Nevertheless, I apologise for your previous bad experience with us and I would personally like to be your host the next time you visit us and make sure you enjoy both your food and experience with us. Hope to see you soon- Fahim

My wife and I decided to come to Indian Memories for a âdate nightâ early (7pm) Friday evening. After booking online, we received a confirmation text message and were all set for a nice meal out. When we arrived at the restaurant, it took a while for us to be seated (although the restaurant was not busy). When our food came, my chicken tikka madras was like warm and my naan bread cold. My wifeâs food was an acceptable temperature so I was not inclined to return mine for rehearing. I did get a replacement (hot) naan bread, which was very nice. My curry (although cold) was very tasty and enjoyable (I did complain at the time or eating) but it took over 15 minutes to get the bill after requesting it and there was no discount for the cold food or compensation of any kind. Overall, the food was nice but service poor. I will not be returning to this restaurant

Took my son tonight for birthday meal, was very busy but managed to get a table.Food was excellent so tasty and lots of variety.Downside was staff not that attentive, they cleared table but never came to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee so we left.Would recommend and will definitely return.Aaaah. Shame we missed that extra star. Positively, I'm very delighted to hear that the food was tasty.I'm guessing this is your first experience here? We've been here more than 20 years and 99.99 % of customers are all local regulars. We've never been successful with desserts and so we don't do it. Coffee is a non seller as well and so we don't really ask anyone after a meal. Sorry but it's always been like this.Glad to here that you will return...."definitely".

We were recommended to this curry restaurant by friends and went as a big group. The. Menu was extensive and we had a selection of different curries between us, I chose a chicken with mango dish which was a house special, this was very disappointing, seemed to be no spice in it at all very bland and almost a tomato sauce texture, the kormas looked very nice and there was a good amount of meat in the dishes. The biryani was very tasty. Itâs says the first puppadum is free but they were halved and worked out at only three quarters each only a minor thing but not as advertised. . The Peshawar naan was very good some some items were ok others were very mediocre . The prices are not cheap so it was a disappointing evening out. The staff were polite and helpful but sad to say itâs not somewhere I would go again.

We decided to visit Nepalese Chef for an impromptu family meal. The restaurant is spacious, but lacks atmosphere.Waiters are attentive but relatively unfriendly in their approach.Food served was (in our opinion) overpriced, meagre portion size, and not all dishes were hot. When the head waiter was approached concerning the meal quality/quantity, his attitude was a very disappointing "take it or leave it" .In our opinion as a family there are far better restaurants to enjoy dining at in the area. Where both good hot food and a warm welcome are available. If only the Nepalese chef's food were as good as the waiters outfits.

We ordered starters & mains and taste-wise I could not tell the difference, so disappointed. Chicken shashlick & chicken biryani. Iâve had both dishes may times, they are totally different, but at this restaurant they tasted exactly the same. I left the curry and went home & made toast.I was asked if I was enjoying my food, I said no but the waiter just looked at me bewildered
