Dehradun (/ˌdɛrəˈduːn/) or Dehra Dun (Garhwali: देरादूण) is the interim capital city of Uttarakhand, a state in the northern part of India. Located in the Garhwal region, it lies 236 kilometres (147 mi) north of India's capital New Delhi and 168 kilometres (104 mi) from Chandigarh. It is one of the "Counter Magnets" of the National Capital Region (NCR) being developed as an alternative centre of growth to help ease the migration and population explosion in the Delhi metropolitan area and to establish a smart city at Dehradun. During the days of British Raj, the official name of the town was Dehra.

Had my lunch on my way to Mussoorie. Though bit expansive but worth every Rupee you spend. Food was delicious, service was top class, interior was excellent. In fact everything was good about it except the price. The approach to the restaurant is poor though. Too less space to park your car.

There are very few south indian restaurants in Dehradun city & most open for lunch. This was the only one which was open for breakfast during our visit. It's airconditioned, the interiors are elegant, very clean, spacious tables and excellent service.South indian platter was a thaali with dosa, vada, idli, Upma, etc. in one plate. The quantity was more hence we shared the food. The prices were high but the food was fresh, hot & very tasty, so we did not mind the price.

We opted for the Indian portion of the menu. Nothing particularly to âwrite home aboutâ. A standard Muttar Paneer,Chicken dish, garlic Nan, SL Soda and Jerri rice. All well prepared and very good service. These seatings are quite large and tables well dressed. Must be the fasting period as we were the only ones in attendance. Opted to pay with International Visa Card.. worked in 4 continents including India but with 2 x âPin Ok â was told âmachine is not accepting your Cardâ. So paid in cash and suggested the replace their machine. Requested my bill be marked Paid and Signed.

This restaurant is at the best place i.e. Rajpur road (the heart of the city).the ambiance of the restaurant is so amazing! There is a self service rule and the place have sections of veg and non veg separately. The music fills the place and our mood to the best. You should have a try to it! I loved it seriously and will surely go there again. ?The prices are reasonable for the services and food they have to offer. (PS: they have a buffet system) ;) here you get a complimentary non-alcoholic drink.

I have visited salt and cravings on different ocassions for satiating my dessert cravings. This could be called one of the best places for food as well as desserts especially in the Astley hall vicinity. Tried their tiramisu, brownie with ice cream, chessecakes and all of them were delectable. The portions are big and the prices extremely reasonable. Their burritos are a must try. A must visit for those with a sweet tooth.

Kumar foods is a restaurant run by the oldest and famous sweet shop of Dehradun. Its centrally located . just about 400 mts from clock tower on Rajpur road. It serves good veg and non veg food. Specially Punjabi and muglai. We had chicken and malai tikka as starters and butter chicken , malai kofta and veg jalferezi . With Crispy tandoori roties and GARLIC NAANS. Food was very delicious and good service.

This is a family favorite. Fantatstic food. The service is also exceptional. You can also speak to the owner uncle who regales you with his humour. Located centrally in Astley Hall. Non-vegetarian food is superb but veg is no mug either.

As usual we found our dishes to be acceptable, with good service overall. Unfortunately for us just prior to arrival of our food the band players appeared and what followed was anything conducive to eating and certainly nullified any possible conversation across the table. The music was what I would enjoy had there been a dance floor provided so I had a choice of what to do. If Management feels music would be a nice accompaniment to Evening Dining then soft low Very background Music would be acceptable not what we met this Evening. If we return we will call ahead to see if a Band is present. Disappointed this visit.
