Indo Latino Tapas Bar- A fusion of Indian subcontinental cuisine and Latin American cuisine.
In Corbridge and Hexham, two neighbouring towns in the Tyne valley you would find two restaurants called the Valley. Fantastic Indian restaurants. Now Nabil, son of mr. Daraz has taken over the Hexham branch and a new concept emerged. A Indo latino restaurant. The big change being the tapas size servings and quite a few new courses. Cilantro is not only cozy, its warm and the staff are pleasant, eager to please (but not pushy), the setup has style and OMG the food. There is a lot to be said. Presentation - really great. Beautiful. Taste? excellent. The spicy things were hot but you could really get the taste.I have to say, having been a Indian food fan for over 40 years, loving to make and eat my own Indian, having tried them all over the world, this really blew my mind.I suggest that Northumbrians try the wonderful food they present. I know I will next time I get fairly close to Hexham.I should also say that this is not a sponsored comment. I just really love this place!

Recommended by Michelin Guide 2015 - 2019 and one of only nine Indian restaurants in the country to be awarded a Bib Gourmand. Arguably the finest Indian food in the North of England. Haveli offers great Indian food prepared with only the freshest ingredi
Having visited this restaurant many time before, we were looking forward to our Saturday curry night at Haveli. God knows what has happened, but both the service and the food has gone down hill. Yes it was busy on arrival, but we had to prompt the waiter to ask if our table was ready. Yes it was, but the staff were just not tuned in. We opted for the sharing platter to start with which was tasty. The mains however were either totally over spiced or very bland. Husbands lamb madras left a residue on the tongue! Friends korma was not the normal burst of flavours, but really just cream. We asked for a top up of the two extremely small pots of rice, which was fine but at a cost of £5. So at the end of the meal we spoke to the waiter about our disappointing evening. He happily informed us that "everyone has mentioned how spicy the lamb is tonight"...............I think this place has got too big for its boots. Thinking it has a captive audience in Darras Hall, but they need to realise if their food and service are below par people will just go elsewhere. Gladly we do not live in Portland and are very lucky to have the UK's best casual indian restaurant on our doorstop (Dabawal).

We went here on a Saturday evening and it was very busy, booking is essential. Food was really good and service was attentive without being fussy. Starters and mains were good sized portions without being silly. Prices are very reasonable. Well worth a try.

Went in early and were accomodated well. The starters of onion bhajies and prawn were fantastic, as well as the pompadoms and selections of ghutney. The main course needs addressing in regards presentation - it just looked like they had ladled out a coloured sauce and applied poured it into bowl, with chichen and lamb being at the bottom of the sea bed - a lot to improve on.

Decided enroute home to pick up a take-away, as the restaurant had literally just opened we were advised that it would be a half hour wait. We ordered three starters, four different mains and a selection of accompaniments. To be honest the starters were okay but very poor value for money. The mains although completely different actually all tasted roughly the same, but were however tasty, just slightly disappointed. Will return for a sit in meal and try again sometime.

Elegant Indian dining in a beautiful country setting- situated in one of the oldest station houses in the world.
Booked for my Special Birthday. Was OK . Curry was good but over priced. Our local Indian resturant is just as good but half the price. Was met in the small bar /reception which was standing room only. Not a good start. Our order was taken eventually when we managed to get a drink and a seat. We were then taken to our table 15mins later up stairs. It did get better from then on.But just OK
