To craft our menu, we traveled up and down India's coast, from Kerala to Hyderabad and beyond. The foods from these regions boasted an arsenal of flavors like none other - curries that were simultaneously spicy yet cooling, fresh seafood prepared in homem
Some individual dishes are excellent, but they are very heavy and there is redundancy on the menu, with one appetizer showing up again as a side to the main dish. Service stunningly just okay. Not welcoming, timing off with multiple appetizers brought at once rather than paced, empty dishes lingering on the table, water glasses repeatedly not refilled. We were in no hurry at all and ordered in two parts, but the meal lasted an hour, and we thought well that was quick!. The timing was like in a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, not what you expect from a 1-Star restaurant. This is not a full evening out. Also, ambience completely unexciting. If you are plowing through the list of Michelin 1-stars in the Bay Area you will come to a jolt when you get to this one. I am not a harsh critic but these was really just not okay. Move to the next in your list.

With accomplished chefs proficient in all of the specialties that make Asian-Burmese cuisine sought after by food aficionados, Rangoon Ruby is fast striking a chord with diners looking for a fresh, modern approach to one of Asia's most popular cuisines. I
My wife and I don't live in the Bay Area, but we have eaten at Rangoon Ruby's a number of times during visits there (in various locations). This time, we dined at the Burlingame location, and this visit was not in the same league as the prior excellent experiences we had had. We asked for the food to be "medium" on the spicy scale, and we felt every dish lacked spice. Our waiter was friendly, but distracted, and I had to get up twice to get his attention. He was either folding napkins or chatting with the bartender, but it didn't seem he was being as attentive as he should have been.

Good, traditional Americanized Indian food served in a comfortable environment. In particular the paneer and naan were good. Solid collection of local beers on tap

Owned by local duo, Akash and Rana Kapoor, Curry Up Now was inspired by street food popular in India and other parts of the world. Akash and Rana started Curry Up Now as the Bay Area's very first Indian Street Food truck and have now expanded to five food
Bay Area culinary map is dominated by Asian and Latin cuisine. Hence, I was excited to visit the place which describes itself as "Indian Street Food". The smell of Indian spices welcomed me from the moment I entered the restaurant. I thought it was a good sign. I ordered classic Indian food - samosa with chutneys and naan bread. The food was really good, spicy and very aromatic. It is a chain restaurant. Keep your expectations not too high with regard to that information and you'll be fine. I think it is a great spot for a lunch or a quick meal with friends. Good Indian alternative if you have had enough Asian and Mexican food to eat. I would return to Curry Up Now to try their other items since their menu is quite extensive.
