This is the best resto in Zamboanga City. The ambience has an old world Filipino feel, and the food tastes great! Order the platter to have a taste of everything, but definitely try the curacha in alavar sauce. Cap it off with a cup of Zamboanga white.

This place used to be great in the old days. People come here to relax, have meetings, go swimming, and have relaxing fun. They had a great, competent staff, the ambiance was great, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air.
Ever since the new management took over, this place went down hill.
AMBIANCE
Despite recent renovations, the place feels like it needs to get rid of most of the decorations. It feels like a jungle inside. It's too cluttered and feels claustrophobic.
SERVICE
Most of the service staff here are student trainees, not well-trained service personnel. Expect shy, incompetent trainees handling your food.
FOOD
Food is mediocre, or less. Nothing Special about it.
FREE WIFI
None. You have to pay extra.

If you want to have your seafood-cravings-fix satisfied, then bring your family to Hai San. They have a wide-array of seafood dishes to choose from, so you don't really have to worry what to eat. Their clam soup is a must-try. Other classics like chopsuey, fish sweet and sour, and pancit guisado are available too and you should try them. Dining here, however, will make you think that only the affluent can afford to eat here everyday. Price range is expensive.

LOCATION: near the city hall, going to the Fort. Actually it is also a walking distance from the Pier servicing Basilan.
FOOD QUALITY: Food are good. We had chicken empanada, and it is quite tasty.
PRICE: The price is not so bad, given the ambiance. We had snack for PHP60, and it is worth it.
SERVICE: Staff is ok, but they could be faster

This restaurant is probably one of the oldest in Zamboanga City, Philippines. The bilao is particularly nice - the lechon kawali that goes with it is amazing! The outdoor ambience is perfect. Those that want airconditioned dining can be accommodated easily as Palmeras Hacienda has this also.
"Compliments to the Chef!" seems to be the common reaction of diners.

My friend brought me here and said this is a must place to visit and dine in. For Php 25, one can taste the unusual dish consisting of 3 sticks of cube-sized barbecue and sticky rice swimming in a chilli soup. They say the best time to eat it is breakfast but people come eat here all day.
The place looks very old and the sign board along the road is faded so it can be hard to find this. Best way is to ask people and for sure you will be led here.

We dine at Barcode located inside the Paseo del Mar in Zamboanga City (no idea if it's a branch of the one with the same name located along Rizal Street) after having great time watching the dancing Fountain at the park. There were numerous food stalls and restobars offering varied food products, drinks, and entertainment in the area but Barcode caught our attention the most. The gentle sea breeze added coolness to the place which was dimly-lighted. On-stage performers attracting crowds with romantic music. Both young and old packed the place enjoying food, drinks, and music. Freshly cooked house specialties that taste great and sizzle are served hot at reasonable prices.
It was CooL and HoT or HoT and CooL ... however you wanted to call it :)
