A part of any good road trip is a meal at a country pub. Passing through Young at lunch time, we chanced a meal at the Empire Hotel, mainly because there was a parking spot right next to the entrance. Great reason to choose where to eat, right? Found ourselves in what appeared to be a newer part of the hotel, their Bistro. Cheerful wait staff, usual pub menu and within 5 minutes we were tucking into generous-sized portions of the standard schnitzel and fish and chips. Both hit the spot for my wife and me and we felt more than satisfied with the experience. No hesitation in recommending this place. Long live the pub lunch.

Bluestill Distillery is a working distillery, cafe and gallery located on the Henry Lawson Way 2km from Young CBD. The restaurant area can seat up to 90 people making it ideal for large groups and tour buses. With panoramic views of the township of Young, you can enjoy country-style cuisine, either indoors or al-fresco. The Distillery showcases not only our own range of spirits (which is a rarity in Australia) but also local artworks and crafts as well as local, home-made conserves (yum!), organically grown, super-healthy snacks straight from the land (in the form of prunes and cherries you can pick yourself from the tree, in season, Nov-Jan), olives, oils and condiments until your heart is content! The venue is available to book for functions as well, so next time you're looking for an awesome location to have a celebration, spare us a thought, we'd love to cater for you. The spirit prices on site are the best you'll find around, so come and visit us for a cheaper alternative to a trip to the bottle-o. Not to mention, our spirits rival the big names in flavour. Don't believe us? Then try them for yourself!
I had not been back there since it had changed hands and the previous establishment on this site was great. While the new owners still have a little way to go to get their Jam stocks up the product itself was very good and I purchased 12 bottles of various Jams and relish's.
A very nice airy and large restaurant with a good menu which was backed up by the food being of great quality when it came.
Service was good and of course this site occupies a great area to view Young.

A wonderful little restaurant. Food is of a high standard. You have the option of selecting a meal or doing tapas (share plates) we opted for shares 4 in total which were enough to feed the 4 of us. Exceptional value and good establishment. Keep up the good work. Will return when next in town.

The current cook decides what and when you eat there. At his discretion changes the menu and refuses restaurant service based on his personal whims. We used to be regular patrons but we will not go until management correct or chanes this cook. The last three visits were a true nightmare.

Perfect coffee, strong and hot as requested. We had scrambled eggs on 2 slices of sourdough - soft, fluffy eggs; and mushrooms on 2 slices of sourdough. The mushrooms were the best I have ever eaten!
Staff are friendly and obviously care for their clientele.
Nice place to stop for breakfast, with the sun streaming through the front windows on a chilly morning.

My wife and I have been here before and this time was better than the first. We had 4 share plates.... Haloumi pear and walnut salad, calamari, pan fried scallops and sliced lamb..... Buonissimo! The chef here obviously has great pride in his cooking and I thoroughly recommend a dinner here.

We ordered takeaway as a family tonight and everything we ordered was amazing and full of flavour. I've tried a few Chinese restaurants as I live in Sydney and this one beats them all! Even my Grandma that is a local said this is the best Chinese restaurant in Young! I will definitely be eating here again and recommending it to all my family and friends

Raisin toast - spot the raisin
Date scone - doughy, please cook before serving
Two coffees prepared by sneezing and nose wiping person and at no time were hands washed. We could not drink the contaminated coffees.
We were lured by the best bakery claim. What a joke. Paid a premium for rubbish consumed. The date scones at Baker's Delight nearby are perfect.

We are a ground level motel with 30 rooms that range from Family and interconnecting to single rooms. We are currently refurbishing and updating our motel. We are the closest motel to the main street and all that Young has to offer. We accept group bookings and coaches.
I travel to Young regularly for work had looked at this motel before but looks dated from outside you know what they say don't judge a book by it's cover. Room was completely refurbished & complete brand new bathroom. Great value, staff so friendly, yummy...MoreThank you for taking the time to give us a lovely review.

Wilkies offers the best breakfast on town. It is offered all day on the weekend with a limited range offered in the morning during week days. If you are a coffee addict my tip is to get a bucket, which is about 3 standards cups of coffee in one vessel, for the price of 2. Perfect!
