SAMDAN is our favorite restaurant in Cresskill. We return there as often as we can -- sometimes solo but usually with family or friends. The menu of Turkish delicacies is varied and almost everything we've tasted there has been delicious. Grilled meats like lamb or chicken or beef shish-ke-bab are always delicious; so are the fish dishes as well as vegetarian specialties with eggplant, hummus, chickpeas and other ingredients. We've never been disappointed at Samdan!
Service is always welcoming and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Go for lunch -- go for dinner! We'll continue dining at Samdan as often as we can!

Tried this restaurant again... Aleays busy... Was so noisy i got a headache... Big groups... Sound carried...no kebobs only entrees ... They recommended half rotisserie chicken and i thought was pretty basic but well prepared. No greek salad on menu only Horitiki salad.... Very pricy for small place with view of railroad tracks... I won't be returning ... There are lots better in neighboring towns and better priced!

X2O Xaviars on the Hudson is Peter X Kelly’s latest addition to the Xaviars Restaurant Group. It sits in the water on the only turn of the century Victorian pier still in use on the Hudson River. X2O’s Main Dining Salon's 25 foot vaulted ceiling and 3 walls of glass frame offers views of the George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges, as well as sunsets over the Palisades. Guests encounter dishes incorporating classic French technique with Italian and Spanish influences, and Asian embellishments which create a wholly original cuisine unique to the Hudson Valley. The Dylan Lounge is a vibrant, up-tempo space with a sophisticated and playful bent that offers guests more dining options. Guests are invited to sample a variety of small plates and sushi, while dining at the Communal Table, sushi bar, or at traditional banquette and table seating.
The food tasted delicious and view overlooking the river was amazing. Unfortunately, 2 members of our party got sick that night. The one thing they ate in common was the seafood crepe appetizer.
The service left a lot to be desired. The main course was served immediately after the appetizer. We had to remind the server several times about our drink orders. The ala carte side dish was served after we ate our entrées. Lastly, I did not appreciate having an 18-20% tip automatically added to our tab since the service was lacking.
I would return to this restaurant for drinks during the warmer months so I can enjoy the Hudson River views.

Everything, All American dishes. We have dined on many occasions here and never disappointed. It can be harried on a weekend night and reservations are more difficult. Definitely not a drop in restaurant.
Their bread is absolutely delicious, but do not stuff yourself as the portions here are not dainty. leave room for dessert.

Arthur Avenue section of the Bronx. It was fantastic!
I finally had a chance to eat here. I ordered the veal parm hero/wedge/hoagie/sub.
I sat at a table in the bar. The waiter brought out a bread basket. It was Arthur Ave bread, and it was delicious. When my sandwich was brought to the table, the visual is the contents of the sandwich. But when I picked it up, I could feel the bread was freshly baked. Like it came out of the oven an hour or two ago. When was the last time that happened! The sandwich was moist and tender. The bread quality enhanced the sandwich. Cost was $12. Locally, I can get a sandwich for $9.00, but the quality isn't the same. Can't wait to return.

We had an enjoyable lunch. They have a nice menu- many kinds of pizza, salads, wraps, panini, pasta, and a few entrees. I had a grilled vegetable wrap. My husband had a grilled chicken parm hero. We shared a slice of cheese pizza with mushrooms. Everything was fresh and tasty. In addition we had friendly service.

We had my daughter's Bridal shower today. The food for 57 hungry women was OUTSTANDING. The buffet was well stocked with service excellent. The staff are helpfully attentive and polite. Everyone raved about the food. We had a wonderful time. Gianna is a fabulous place for lunch or dinner.

This is the bar I'd give the highest rate of all my reviews. A place where you feel welcome, cozy and relaxed. I've been with friends, we've had a byte, a few beers and cocktails. Before we left, I asked the bartender if I could bring a glass coaster as a souvenir. The bartender asked where I'm from, and suggested that I wait for him a minute or so. A few moments later, he came back with 3 mugs branded as his bar, postcards, coasters and other cool stuff, giving it to me as a souvenir, wishing us a safe trip back home. Such a kind gesture of sheer human goodness and hospitality at it's best left me speechless. I would always return to this bar, with warm feeling as if I were visiting old friends! That's how it's done, as a good host and a true gentleman!

Ambiance: You walk through this long tunnel, set up like a theatre's backstage or some old underground caverns. You finally reach a room with tall ceilings and some painting of an Italian building scene. It is not a terribly large space on the ground floor but enough. There is a small upstairs, which I ready about on Yelp. My husband jokingly said that the place confused him, it was new but it was old.The lights were pretty dim and there were candles on the tables. We entered just at the time a large party was getting ready to be seated. I can safely say that while they sat and ate, they were pretty loud, in addition to the wholly random shrieks from my toddler. This was not a date spot today.
Food: We ordered the short ribs special and the off the menu Pasta al Forno -
Baked rigatoni with meatballs, sopressata, ricotta, mozzarella, sliced egg & tomato sauce. That was mostly good. The meatballs were a bit understated-a little dry. They would have been nicer if soaking in sauce or moist. The ribs specials was just right, not too salty and flavorful. We also noticed that the food stayed warm while we ate.
Service: There were waiters zipping around and at times I could not see my waiter, so I just asked the closest ones for things I needed. They were happy to assist. The food also came out in good time.
We visited on a Thursday around 7pm. It was definitely more than half full, and almost no wait. I must say this, we walked down a few blocks to get there and none of the other places had people or if they had it was negligible. (The pizza shop does not count.) This is "the happening spot" according to my husband.
