米沢の名物米沢ラーメンの有名店です。
ひっきりなしにお客さんが来ていました。
あっさりしたラーメンですが、透明なスープにはコクもあり、美味しかったです。
具材もシンプルですが、これぞ食べ飽きない味、といった感じでした。

土曜日開店時間前の11時に着きましたが、既に5台ほどお客さんの車が止まっていて、開店と同時に満席になりました。営業時間は11:20〜16:00迄で店内はカウンター席10席とテーブル席が3つあります。

建物の雰囲気はよかったです。ですが食べ物は特別ではありませんでした。週末、祝日はランチでも大変混んでいるので予約をした方がいいです。my husband (not Japanese) probably enjoyed the experience more than I. This is probably a good place to take foreigners - but on weekend or holiday - make a reservation - even if you come around 11:30 like we did.

A meal can be enjoyed while looking at a building of historical tangible cultural properties and a traditional Japanese garden. Offered dishes are sukiyaki with Yonezawa beef, beef and vegetables cooked in broth, a steak and Japanese traditional tea ceremony dishes.

The beef steak is just great! Not cheap, but it worth the price. Yonezawa beef has become famous as this restaurant started offering it, it is said. Next time I would try either sukiyaki or shabu-shabu, or both!

ホテルのフロントで教えてもらって行ってみました。
普通に美味しかったです。けれど、値段からしたらそれなりという方が適当かもしれません。

The food was excellent and the price was reasonable! An unpretentious local joint. I would definitely come back if I return to Yonezawa ?

峠駅の名物、峠の力餅。日中、峠駅に停車する列車にあわせて、力餅の立ち売りをされています。ほとんど乗降客がいない駅での販売、駅前での店舗。いつまでも頑張っていただきたいお店です。力餅は10個入りで1000円。厚めの餅がわになめらかなこし餡。旅の気分を盛り上げてくれます。

せっかく米沢に来たので高級なステーキを食べに行きました。ステーキは米沢牛（ロース）と、更にさしの優れたチャンピオン牛の2種類（サーロイン、ヒレ）。奮発してチャンピオン牛のヒレに。サーロインとヒレは値段同じです。
脂が滴ることはありませんが、すごく柔らかく、飲み込む時まで味がしっかりした肉でした。
それでも何か物足りないのは、サーロインでも良かったかなと思うのと、岩塩またはたれをかけてという事ですが、たれがソースで、醤油系の方が慣れていて良かったような。
次の機会にはサーロインやすき焼きも試したいです。メニューは価格帯が広く、一人のお客さんから宴会のグループまで幅広く利用されています。

地元の友人に連れて行ってもらうまではなんで米沢でジンギスカンなんぞと思っていましたが、行ってみると地元の人気店で柔らかくておいしいラムやらマトンやら。当たりのお店で友人に感謝です。

I was walking around looking for a place to eat dinner close to the train station. No English menu. They have Seating at a counter and a tatami area. They serve wine only by the bottle. I had an excellent meal of Yonezawa beef dinner set.
