The food is great, The wine selection surprising for a little restaurant no bigger than a closet, but this place is a MUST stop for lunch. Incredible salads, inventive combinations of food, and desserts that will make you want to stop every day. The Watermelon Gazpacho is unforgettable - and the cook will share recipes! An unassuming place with a heart of gold.

It's been a few years since we were at Wintergreen, and we remembered Copper Mine as a better than expected restaurant. And we were happy to see that the food and service was just as good as the last time. Wine list is extensive, food is well prepared. Happy to see they have kept their high standards for dinner.

We always love coming to BMB! If you're a beer lover you're obviously in for a treat -- they have some great seasonal brews and well as "standards". For those who love wine they carry a great selection of local wines (veritas/cardinal point/etc.). As for the food, it really depends on what you get. The pizza is amazing (all the ones I've tried) and they make some great apps (go for the nachos all the way). I didn't care for their burgers but that's just my preference.
If you're looking for a fun atmosphere with some good beer, BMB is your place!

Was heading from east of Charlottesville towards Danville on US 29 & didn’t want to wade through Charlottesville traffic for lunch. Lovingston Cafe was a great find and so easy to locate. Found their Smoked Trout Salad so delightful I ordered a take out for my wife to savor that evening. Fresh ingredients and what an excellent dish with the large walnuts! Wow! They do serve a local cider and the nice thing was I could order a small one and not be too tipsy to continue heading south. I went for the Bold Rock “Virginia Apple” which was sweet. It was so fun I found the nearby convenience store sold it by the 6 pack and bought one.
Lovingston Cafe has their local following and is slightly upscale for being a small town. They have a special Ribfest on Saturdays that I’ll have to try. I have passed through this town many times between Charlottesville and Lynchburg, oblivious to this easy on/off accessed gourmet alternative to fast food. Can hardly wait to savor LC again on my next trip up US 29!

We were on a brewery tour around the Charlottesville area and stopped in at Devils Backbone. The brewery is near Wintergreen ski resort. The brewery is located in a large beautiful log building. They have built several out buildings with bars, outdoor seating, fire pits, and party games. It is a great place to sit and grab a beer while waiting for a table in the restaurant. They even sell Smores kits to use at the firepits. There is also a walk up bbq place there. It wasn't open during our visit, it maybe open seasonally. The restaurant is located in the large log building. The beers at Devils Backbone is very good and diverse. The food is general pub fare with decent sized portions. It is a must visit when exploring breweries in the Charlottesville area.

Only one other patron in the restaurant for our 10 a.m. visit. Service was extremely slow, which resulted in our paying for our snail-paced coffee then departing as breakfast was served nearly 40 minutes later.
That said, having had breakfast and lunch at Stella... many times in the past, and having visited with groups of 10 or more, the food has always been outstanding, but the service has always seemed slow, particularly when just two of us were being served. This just happened to be the time when the wait was unusually long.
Had the restaurant been busy, or had the servers and kitchen staff not seemed to be enjoying their camaraderie rather than refilling coffee or keeping us posted on the progress of one omelet and two eggs over easy, we would have better tolerated the wait.

Remote and pretty setting. Friendly and knowledgeable staff at tasting, explaining about wine characteristics. Tasting fee in addition to purchase. Cab Franc very good. Also liked Pinot Grigio. Several others have been sweetened either by sugar or cheery juice- not good. Viognier, for example, sweeter than most. Also, at $22-30, pricey for what you are getting. My wife and I plan to return for the French crepes on a Sunday afternoon. Suggestion: apply tasting fee to wine purchase as so many others do.

This will be short and sweet. This place was just OK. The food was actually pretty good. I had the Italian Trio, which was plenty for two people. The biggest complaint I had was the service, which was really slow. It took almost 10 mins to get waited on and at the end of my meal, I ended up having to look for my waitress to get my tab taken care of. This was a week day evening, so not over crowded. Oh well, at least the food was decent

Nestled at the top of Wintergreen Resort - this cool little dining spot overlooks the mountain top golf course. The view alone is worth the trip .
Great bar 19th hole vibe in the lounge as you mingle with golfers calling it a day.
You can eat in the bar or the dining room. Either way, the food rocks. I had a delicious Gourmet Grilled chicken sandwich with house cut fries. My partner had the seafood special - Grouper, perfectly cooked. Salads and appetizers rounded out the meal. Lots of menu choices on the dinner menu and a perfect place for a romantic dinner rivaling any I have had in Chicago or NY.
Worth the trip to the top

We are a casual fine dinning restaurant that makes our food from scratch. We offer jumbo scallops wrapped in house cured bacon, grilled flat iron and sirloin steaks, gumbo, crawfish etouffee, Po-boys and one of the best reubens made with house made sauerkraut in Virginia. Most of our menu can be modified to be Gluten free as well. We look forward to seeing you soon
Delicious salad-wasn't expecting chicken on the Greek Salad, but nice surprise to have the protein. Took food to go back to Iris Inn. Extensive menu with daily specials. Locals were there-so either a good place, or only place. No t.v. at bar area. Welcoming surprise-had to talk to each other!
