Thank you to the host and behind the scenes staff of this beautiful place. Our tea, coffee, salads, soup and dessert were exquisitely presented and tasted fresh and delicious. We were able to sit and relax in a totally unhurried room. Even though there were four other tables occupied, we were in a world of our own. The background music was tasteful and the volume perfect. Our host was a kind gentleman and the decor suggests you are in a genteel Southern home. High chair is available, lovely clean well-equipped restroom, teas and other souvenirs can be purchased. No wonder this cafe was so highly recommended to us!

This DQ is what it is -- a quick stop at a truck stop off the interstate, snuggled between the Wendy's and the truck stop convenience store. Service is spotty, but the ice cream has always been fine. A few tables, but due to its location you are in the middle of a sometimes busy thoroughfare.

This is the only restaurant in Winnsboro that is open for lunch and dinner. It features pizza and pasta dishes and they are dependably good. They also have a large salad that has chicken, stuffed grape leaves, and lots of good salad greens,+ feta cheese, that is very good.
The man who owns it is there every day and keeps things going well. The prices are very reasonable.

We came here to meet local friends for lunch and felt warmly welcomed by staff. The popularity of the place proves that it meets a real local need. There was a wide selection available and the low price point added to the attractiveness no doubt. A thoroughly enjoyable buffet meal. Recommended. Thank you to all cooks, servers and managers.

It's a tiny hole in the wall place. The food is plentiful and very good. Girl behind the counter was friendly and helpful. People watching was great! Tourists (here for the eclipse) locals, truckers, etc. The signs on the wall were entertaining while we waited for our food. This place is totally genuine and one of the last of its kind. I loved it!

In spite of 2 other Chinese restaurants coming to this small town, Speedee Work has endured. It is good simple Chinese (albeit Americanized) takeout restaurant in the center of town that we frequent at least once or twice a month for a quick meal.

I was doing a few presentations at Fairfield High School in Winnsboro and school staff ordered lunch from Bannister’s which is almost across the street. I don’t usually like to review a restaurant I haven’t personally been to but the food was so good, I figured if they could to takeout this well, eating in would likely be just as good! The Italian sandwich was wonderful: great Italian cold cuts on a roll that reminded me of the great bread you get with a po’ boy in New Orleans. So although I cannot comment on ambiance or service, I know the food should be good.

Cool little spot in downtown Winnsboro. I liked that not all of the furnishings matched (mismatched tables, chairs, etc). Gave it a feel of being in a friend's eclectic house for lunch.
Anyway, on to what's important ... the food! I ordered the Troublemaker sandwich, and my friend ordered the grilled ham and cheese. Both were perfection. Prices were very reasonable.
It's worth a visit, but be warned: we asked about their hours of operation (were considering coming back later for dinner, based on a dessert item that we heard the server describing to another table), and it seems that Hoot's is open 11am-2pm Monday - Friday. Call ahead to see if that's still the case.

I went to Winnsboro today to see what it was like. Downtown features this place, a brand new BBQ place that opened this February. I went in at a time where there was no one else. The owners were there cooking and serving food, and they attended to me quickly and were very friendly. I got the pulled pork dinner with hash & rice, collard greens and mac & cheese for my sides. The pork was flavorful, and they had a very tasty vinegar based sauce to go with it. I think the hash was made with ketchup, making it sweeter than I normally like. But it was still good, and I liked the other two sides just fine. Along with the BBQ menu that I used, there's also a menu offering burgers, and flounder and tilapia.
I should note again that the restaurant is new, and so the interior is completely renovated. They have a HUGE space, a perfect venue for a catered affair or a big reception. The tables were brand new, and the bathroom was gleaming clean. I hope this restaurant succeeds, to help Winnsboro overall.

I visited some years back and it's still the same. The food was good, the service was fast. I still love to see them bring the food out on skates the way they use to, like on Happy Days..lol
