We were visiting from Canada and based on Trip Advisor reviews tried this restaurant. Very friendly family run restaurant and as mentioned in other reviews they made us feel very welcome. We shared a plata of meze which was plentiful and delicious. We had 3 lamb and 1 vegetarian dishes as main courses and all were piping hot and very flavourful. We would definitely recommend and return if we were ever back here.

Booked a meal for a group of 4 friends after Reading good reviews but unfortunately was a bit disappointed. Fishcake and cauliflower panna cotta starters OK but bland and pate tasty but not particularly worth the price. Main course steaks were fatty but accompanying chips great. Trio of lamb variable the shepherd pie was delicious but the other pieces of lamb were tough and sinewy. Overall the food was acceptable but didn't warrant the bill of £274 for 4 starters, 4 mains, 3 puddings and 2 bottles of wine. Service OK as we did feel the whole experience was rather rushed.

Modern French & World cuisine in the heart of Windsor, just 200 meters away from the Castle. Exciting freshly prepared homemade food, created and served under the guidance of Chef-Patron Andre
Perhaps our experience was the exception that proves the rule--the mediocre meal among the glowing reviews. We were two well dressed women there when the restaurant opened and were seated and served with disdain. We made the mistake of ordering the early bird dinners and were horrified to realize that they were reheated from lunch (we check the lunch menu to ascertain this). Our friends had a good experience the next night. But excellence requires that experiences like ours not be permitted to happen.

Our passion for "simple, honest, food using only the finest ingredients" continues. Serving dry aged 35 day hung Aberdeenshire steaks and a large choice fish and shellfish. Windsor Grill is a real gem, just a stone's throw from Windsor's Long Walk and two minutes from the town centre. A warm welcome greets any visitor, a cosy ambiance is created by pretty wall lights and table oil lights which gently illuminate the abundance of wall hangings and soft furnishings. For meetings and social gatherings our private dining room is stylish and a discreet hideaway. Open Monday to Saturday dinner from 5.30Pm
Had a lovely meal at the Windsor Grill - our first meal out as a couple since having our baby so we had a lot riding on it and really wanted it to be good!!
Chateaubriand, wine and cocktails were all lovely and the staff were fantastic, very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive (they even offered to move our table when a large, loud party came in - much appreciated).
Windsor suffers from a lack of nice independent restaurants, but Windsor Grill fills that gap nicely, well worth a visit.

You'll find The Alma just 5 minutes walk from Windsor town centre tucked away on a charming Victorian red brick terraced lined street. We are a traditional English pub serving a range of beers, ales, fine wines and great food....The size of our portions are legendary. We also have the largest beer garden in Windsor, great for those hot summer days and evenings, should we see them! We are conveniently located for Heathrow, the M4 and the M25. The Alma is full of antiques and collectable's including: furniture, paintings, pictures, mirrors, ceramics and interesting knick-knacks We also have a collection of rare film posters and are constantly adding interesting and unusual items to The Alma. It's like pubs used to be and, in our opinion, should be.
My husband rang on Friday to book a table for 1pm saturday to include his elderly mother (92 years). Explained the need for parking and advised we could park in the neighbouring street after 1pm.
When we arrived at the pub we looked at the menu which had a smaller brunch menu on top. When we queried this, we were told that the lunch menu did not start until 2pm!!!
Pretty ridiculous situation and we only received a half hearted apology. We left and went to a more accommodating venue and unfortunately won’t be back. A real shame as we’d had lovely food here in the past.

Hearty and tasty food, generous portion. We were starving when arriving; and soon were escorted to a nice table and order was taken imminently. The service was polite and attentive. The customers seem very local and there were quite a few Arabic people around, adding on to the Moroccan atmosphere.
We enjoyed brochette, lamb tagine, and flat breads. Delicious, delicious, delicious! The portion was so generous that we were stuffed even though all were very hungry. Definitely going back!

Newly renovated country pub in Old Windsor with an emphasis on excellent service and fine British dining.
Im afraid this is going to be a gushing review full of 5 stars so if you plan on going dont even bother Reading this, just GO!
Why?
Gastro pub this isn't. So you walk in to a cheerful greeting. Sadly even this can't be taken for granted nowadays. The decor is understated but refined and comfortable. Most of the tables circle a central island/work station so you feel un-squashed; if there is such a word. The staff are sharply dressed and well turned out. The lunch menu we were offered
was short in choice by many standards but still left me scratching my head as every dish was amazing. Simply put there was nothing I wasn't keen to sample. So I settled on a Beetroot infused smoked salmon that was oh so smooth and creamy served with bits of something and faux caviar, I think. The beef Wellington which sadly all 4 of us had ( meant I couldn't try another main) came out pink but cooked x 4, thin pastry x 4, thin pate coating x 4. You get the gist, 4 identical plates of food. Perfect vegetables, crispy Yorkshire, etc. Delicious gravy (jus?)
Then for desert I ordered the Mocha Soufflé that was the finest I have ever eaten. And boy I have tried dozens at some of the finest establishments in the world. The wine list is very comprehensive and reasonably priced. The special Bloody Mary cocktail worth a mention. Just perfect. Though when I ordered it i suggested Horseradish would improve it...so some came on the side but I refrained from adding it as it wasn't needed!
The toilets are worth mentioning as not only were they immaculate and beautifully decorated but also the fire alarm works if you only slip in for a sneaky Vape. Apologies to the entire restaurant even if somewhat belated if it startled you. You need to check these thing you know to give a thorough review.
Add a splendid countryside views, outside covered Seating for better weather. Comfortable dining chairs. I really can't wait to return.

Traditional English food
Had a great Sunday breakfast here - after a 'heavy' Saturday night - really set us up for the day! Really nice people and generous portions of quality food. Even the toast was hot. Will visit again.

The George Inn is a traditional English pub in the heart of Eton with a view of Windsor Castle. It has an extensive menu available to suit everyone's preferences and also a full bar available. All ages are welcome here in a group of any size - dogs too! Whilst the sun is out enjoy a drink in our large garden. We also have 'The Stable' available to hire out for private functions!
This was the first time having a Sunday Roast and it was fantastic!! The roast chicken and roast beef were both very tasty and tender. The veggies were perfect. And the gravy....amazing. Our server, Kam, was extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to eat here again before leaving Windsor!
