Sitting at the northernmost corner of Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester offers visitors the chance to explore historical sites, museums, vineyards, farmers' markets, and tree-lined Old Town streets once wandered by the likes of George Washington and Stonewall Jackson. The fruitful fields of the surrounding Frederick County have earned the area the title "apple capital of the world," with the city hosting the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival annually for almost a century.

Six family members , including two children, met for high tea. This old house has great atmosphere, bountiful and delicious food, and a great selection of teas. The owner went out of his way to make the children feel comfortable. This is a family-owned restaurant with a great country location, although it is very near a major highway and easy to find.

My mother joined me at Taqueria Guadalajara for a “girls date,” although this restaurant is also good for families with children, groups of friends, or dates with significant others. The space is relaxed and intimate. What sets Taqueria Guadalajara apart from other restaurants in this area is the genuine, attentive service that we have received and the quality of our meals. I have always been impressed with their taste and presentation. Meals are guaranteed to be fresh, flavorful and stunning at this restaurant.

We stayed in Winchester on our way to Gatlinburg. As usual, I looked for restaurants in the vicinity. I was thrilled to find a Cajun restaurant; as Canadians we don't see many. As soon as we checked into our hotel I called for reservations and was crestfallen when Moose told me they were closed for a private function. I blurted out my disappointment, and he asked me to hold. He came back and told me they could manage a takeout order for us. I'd already looked at the menu and was able to order from memory. Our order was ready when we arrived to pick it up. The staff was great. The food was sublime! Shrimp and grits (it was Thursday) were amazing! The gumbo was equally as good and we are now fans of fried okra! The only disappointment was that we couldn't eat in and enjoy the atmosphere. The first word out of my husband's mouth the next morning was "Gumbo"! He actually suggested we re-route our trip home so we could go through Winchester.

Really wanted to find a great Italian restaurant, and this one is very popular so we gave it a try. The service was good, but the food was nothing special. Not that it was bad food, but it also wasn't great so I don't think we'll be going there again. Maybe we missed something, because as I said, it was very popular.

We are a small fine dining restaurant specializing in traditional and authentic Italian cuisine. All of our items are made from scratch on premises from the bread to the gelato. The interior decor is old world and eclectic with a strong opera and classical music influence. Our service is professional and attentive . We look forward to providing you with an Italian culinary experience outside of Italy. Buon Appetito
Passing through Winchester, Violino caught our eye and we decided to give the restaurant a try and we were very pleased we did as everything was excellent, from the atmosphere, the service, to the delicious, well-presented food and even the surprisingly good La Rossa dopplebock beer from Italy. We started with an appetizer consisting of seven different dried, cured meats sliced thin which was very nice then we both ordered the special consisting of two homemade raviolis each stuffed with four different fillings including a fruit based, cheese based and my favorite the venison-truffle raviolis. While a quality dining experience comes with a price, I would expect to pay significantly more in the “big city” for a similarly excellent meal.

We stopped in while shopping the pedestrian mall for a needed break in the action. At 4pm the restaurant was almost filled, a good sign. We ordered cocktails and sandwiches. Our drinks were delivered and were excellent. We were pleasantly surprised when our Italian Subs arrived, they were nicely made and delicious plenty of meats, cheese, and the hot pepper relish made the sandwich complete. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

Our friends at Thai Win II have treated us like family since we began visiting their restaurant. They know our names and our favorite dishes. It's our go-to place for dates, lazy days after work, and family celebrations. We have had our birthday and graduation dinners, as well as our wedding rehearsal dinner at Thai Win I or Thai Win II. It's their superb customer service and great menu that keeps us coming back. I would give this place six stars if I had the ability to do so!

Full service restaurant with patio seating and full bar, featuring authentic Thai cuisine and drinks. Repeat winner: "People’s Favorite Restaurant” awards. Our diverse and flavorful menu has something for everyone, from mild to hot, vegetarian or not.
Thai is one of two restaurants owned by the same group. It is a casual place with unpretentious furnishing and decor. The food offers Thai classics, although h the flavors, and especially the spices, have been largely Americanized. Weather permitting, there are outdoor tables with umbrellas to protect you from the elements. Prices are moderate.

Institution in Winchester, VA
This is good ole country cookin. I relocated here in 1999 and was introduced to Papermill Place. I absolutely loved the variety on the menu. This place can get busy on the weekends and is so worth the wait. I relocated to West Virginia in 2005 and we still drive to Winchester to enjoy Papermill. When my nephews come to visit this is where they ask to eat. If you are looking for good home cooking, look no further.

Neat place and nice staff, but food was just okay and the coffee was horrible!!!! All they had was French pressed coffee, which has to be an acquired taste to drink that stuff. Could not believe that was the only choice. Our waiter was kind enough to "fix" it by adding half water and half coffee for us to try or he could get another beverage. I really wanted coffee with my breakfast, so I tried the watered down version. It was somewhat drinkable, but still was not good. Think we should not have been charged for it!! Next time in Winchester will try another place for breakfast.
