A classy and relaxed restaurant in a classic 19th-century house, facing the beautiful Koningin Astrid Park. Family owned since 1989. Old fashioned Belgian cuisine - light jazzy background music. Menu formula´s only. ( No " à la carte") Booking advised through restaurants´website. Bon appetit !
I was in Bruges with my father and partner for my birthday weekend. I booked a table for my birthday dinner on the Friday night.
We arrived at 7pm and were met by Axel and his wonderful team. We had a lovely corner table in the elegant dining room and were very well looked after,
The 4 course set menu with accompanying wines (or beers) is compulsory at weekends. There are 3 or 4 choices for each course - check out their website for the details.
We were first served a glass of pink sparkling wine and an amuse bouche of smoked salmon - delicious.
With each course we were served a glass of selected wine, although you could chose if you preferred red or white. I was served a chardonnay with my scallop starter and was a little perturbed, as I don't normally like chardonnay - at all! However, I was reassured by the server that the wine was delicious, and it was actually delicious!
I now know a chardonnay that I can drink (I made sure to note the name!)
Wine glasses were topped up as we ate, so we certainly got more than one glass per
course. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and Axel was charming - a very attentive host in the nicest way. He made sure everyone in the restaurant was well looked after. There were several people celebrating with a special meal.
As it was my birthday they served a little trio of tarts (one each) with a candle for me to blow out - a lovely touch.
The food and wine was all top quality, and the service impeccable. Next time we are in Bruges we will definitely be back.
Thank you Axel and the team.

De Zuidkant is well versed in the ABCs of fine dining - attentive service, beautiful food and charming setting. Damme is an idyllic backdrop for enjoying the delicious food, beautifully plated by the chef and presented by the front of the house. The staff was welcoming and gracious throughout the service and even beyond. We had ridden our bicycles to the restaurant unaware of the impending four hour downpour. We were treated as welcomed guests until the rain abated sufficiently for us to leave. They even gave us towels with which to dry our dripping bikes. We left with a wonderful feeling in our minds as well as ou

We ate in four different restaurants in de Haan, and this was by far the best and most memorable. As far as I could see, the whole operation was run by two incredibly hard-working men - one chef and one waiter - so be prepared to wait between courses, this is not fast food. But the food is sensational - real Michelin star quality. Not cheap - expect to spend around 120 euros for two people with drinks and gratuity.

Everything about this restaurant is nicely in balance with its reputation.
We had a wonderful tasting menu of which the portions were perfectly sized, allowing us to finish the desert with the same enthusiasm as the first course.
Also nice was the "bob" arrangement, this means that you get a small amount of the matching wines with each course without drinking more than one glass of wine in total.
The ingredients were rather common (mackerel, scallops, cod fish, pheasant) but each was deliciously prepared with less common but perfectly matching flavours.
The wines perfectly matched the dishes and the dessert was preapred with as much care as the other plates.
The price is at the level of a two Michelin star restaurant but is acceptable given the excellent treat. Service is extremely friendly yet discrete.
The only dissonant is the setting at the sea front in a sort of wooden extension to the building which is so typical for the Belgian coast line. It gives the whole setting a rather cheapish look.
There is no parking and in the neighborhood there is only metered parking possible.
Good to know, there is a daily lunch for a reasonable price which might be a good alternative for a good meal at a lower cost.

We enjoyed the showcase of classic dishes from Watergang's past. It was a great pleasure. In Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, the sea is always near; chef Vinke and the Kromme Watergang's team know how to get the best from underwater to your plate, for example coquille St Jacques prepared in a surprising manner. It may also include 'razor blades' and other shells and fish that you never heard of. Nice set of colourful croquants as well. The accompanying wines were well selected. A surprising Grüner Veltliner and a truly 'amazing' Zinfandel with the poultry, to put it the American way. We''ll be back. Take into account that their comfortable suite is in the next village (with a beautiful view over the Westerschelde). Their 7 min shuttle is very convenient.

I came early, and alone, without a reservation. The proprietors' child was sitting on the stairs. Despite it being (apparently) a two person operation, I was treated to both exquisite food and service. Both the entre and the plat (main course) were generously sized (more than I could eat), but delicious. The fish (cabillaud / cod) was moist and perfectly cooked. I should not omit mention of the multiple amuse bouche before, including fresh radishes and a bowl of winkles!
This is off the tourist trail, and well worth visiting. If you are in a giant hurry, maybe not, it's a place worth savouring.

The OLIVE TREE Restaurant brings together the warm tradition of Greek hospitality with delicious Greek-Mediterranean Cuisine, updated with a contemporary twist. You will find the marrying of flavor and aroma, the crisp tang of traditional seasonings, and the freshest ingredients drawn from the land and the sea. Feel the warmth of the people in their welcoming smiles and the charm of the Mediterranean in its High energy and lively spirit. Our menu gives you a wide choice of Greek recipes with meat, fish, vegetarian, gluten free, lactose free or vegan.
This establishment is across the road from the bell tower, which post-In Bruges, is the centre of the town's tourist industry. Against all the odds, this is a personable restuarant, reasonably priced by the standards of the area, serving good quality greek food in a nice atmosphere. Taramsalata and fried squid, plus a good greek white wine (!)...great.

My boyfriend and I were searching for a restaurant in Bruges on a Monday night and found a lot of venues closed.
After going through higher rated restaurants on Trip Advisor we found Resto Mojo which had very good reviews.
Although a Monday we called and booked a table for dinner which I would recommend as the main restaurant was quite busy.
Resto Mojo has tables inside and out. The outside area is covered and situated in a marquee with heaters so is pleasant to sit outside.
Service was friendly and relaxed; I wouldn't say this is the quickest service but, as we were on holiday it is relaxed and prompt when needed.
We ordered a main only and the main dishes are very large and steaks etc all come with a large salad and fries. My boyfriend had the kangaroo steak which I would definitely recommend (I would also order a sauce).
Before our main we were served an amuse bouche of smoked salmon and pea soup with bread which was lovely.
Definitely a recommended restaurant.

This restaurant is situated in a cellar with a wonderful brickwork vaulted ceiling. Elegant tables and chairs turn this cellar into a wonderful dining room. A set menu makes this restaurant very affordable at an entry level and quality is not compromised. Efficient and frienly...MoreDear Paul, Thank you very kindly to write this very nice review, we will take notice of your comment and try to refined our dishes. We propose a fine seasonal Flemish / French cuisine by Chef Gregory Slembnrouck whose inspiration is lead by high quality, fresh market produce. His second home is certainly his stove, where he spends most of his time there creating and working his culinary magic to obtain the perfect gourmet statement for each guest that is both royal in presentation and abundant in taste. Each plate offered at Le Mystique is proof of Chef Gregory's refined culinary expertise, which showcases not only his extraordinary love for food, but as a master of his craft he is constantly preoccupied with balancing his inspiration for new presentations, his flow of creativity, and his incessant quest for continuous quality. You can fully enjoy this exquisite cuisine in a perfect balance between cost and quality, in the unique historic room in the hotel dating back to 1869 by choosing for one of our original menus 'Flavours of the region', or simply by ordering your favourite dishes à la carte.
Situated within the Heritage hotel, this is a ridiculously romantic dining room. Period furnishings and chadeliers of the baroque period/style. Excellent service- discreet yet very attentive. The food was wonderful. High end French cooking but with an International reach in terms of ingredients and dishes available. Quality fresh ingredients presented extremely well on plate. Top end pricing but this is a quality and memorable dining experience.
