We went to Mesquite Pit for dinner and they always have excellent service and food. Gives that feeling of always glad to see you and they
never fail to make sure the food and service are what anyone would appreciate. If you want good chicken fried steak, grilled chicken Shrimp, steak and fantastic sides or just dessert and coffee they truly are the best!

I reviewed Jeri's Bakery in 2014 and gave it a 3 star rating when others were giving it a 5 star rating -- I didn't think that their bakery goods were anything special and my opinion didn't change after we visited several more times. The bakery changed owners about one year ago and is now named Jeri's Back Home Bakery. I have held off writing a review until now. The new owners received Jeri's recipes as a part of the purchase, but it is evident that they have modified them. We recently purchased 7 kinds of pastries for a dessert party and WOW, they are so much better. The cinnamon rolls, pies, etc. are so sinful (isn't that what you really want when you go to a bakery???!!! The couple who now own the bakery are super friendly and have made us feel so welcome on each visit. It is fun when I can review a place that has made such major gains. We will definitely return! And Often!

I had a noontime cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake. The burger tastes profile (ketchup, mustard, pickle, onion) was EXACTLY right. The chocolate shake tasted authentic. The fries were soggy. The eating area was picked up, but needed a pressure washing to my way of thinking. NO BATHROOMS, just a couple of outhouses. I will return without a need a wash my hands, and will ask for crispy fries.

I am a bit befuddled why this cafe gets some good reviews, but I think it is because those reviews are primarily by locals. We were passing through on the Interstate and checked out places to eat on TripAdvisor. The food was of such that the only reason we can think of that the place gets good reviews is because of their beer, tvs, outdoor patio with heaters, and the fellowship of the locals. My husband had a regular burger. I've never seen him eat only half of one. It was not done. I had the Turkey burger with spinach. There was no seasoning and no flavor, and the meat was mushy. There was no grilled taste. Basically, it was the worst Turkey burger I've had. We also ordered the fried green beans. The beans tasted like freezer burn. If one is going to serve such an item, the beans must be fresh or at least not taste like a freezer. Neither of us finished our meal. The food was just not as advertised. We were highly disappointed!

All the food we ordered was fresh and well prepared. I ordered the pimento cheese sandwich with a side of Frito pie. I even got a chocolate brownie. All was excellent. Wife ordered the tuna sandwich which we finished the next morning. Still good.

Wife and I stopped in for a pre-show late lunch before going to see Doug Church and the Blackwood Quartet at the Texas Opry Theater.
Very high energy place, even on a cold dreary late December afternoon. Given the prices, we expected great food. And that's what we got. I had the chicken enchiladas. She had the chalupa plate Both were outstanding.
Will definitely repeat when back this way.
Recommended.

Located inside David's Stove Shop. Direct entrance on west end. Additional parking for cafe customers available in firework store lot next door.
The Shed still serves good food after changing hands. A quick barbecue sandwich from the new owner sounded good and I thought the pink pig advertising "BBQ Grab and Go" looked vaguely familiar. Not too many cars out front when we arrived and walked straight to the register to order. Bonus! or so I thought. I asked what do you have on the Grab and Go? I said, "the pink pig sign out front." Counter girl says, there is no grab and go that's just a sign the owner had at his old place and puts out there. We get that all the time. So nothing is ready or near ready? No, you have to order. OK, I'm already here, it's been good in the past, I'll go ahead and order three barbeque sandwiches. I say that's not right to advertising Grab and Go - that implies that food is ready and you can pick it up quickly. She says I know but the owner is a politician and he won't change the sign. I don't really know what "politician" means here, but it must mean deceptive. We chat some more about how wrong the sign is. I am the only person in line, all others are seated, and I wait thirty-five minutes for three BBQ sandwiches. The meat was well-portioned. The brisket was OK, not great. The bologna was good and I would buy one again if I was ever going back. I'm not - the owner's advertising is dishonest.

The former owners sold out about a year ago, and this was the first time we have been since the new owners took over. First thing to notice was the wine choices were no comparison, not a great selection. The menu was good, but I would say it lacked its former culinary creativity. My husband had the sous vide tenderloin which was cooked to his liking. (But why tell customers its sous vide?) I ordered a salad and an appetizer which was enough for a full meal---the shrimp on smoked gouda polenta. Was about as good as any shrimp and grits in the Carolinas, but had a small piece of tenderloin in the middle that carry over cooking did in...too done for me, but not controllable in the setting. It created a bit of distraction, did not really contribute to the dish---probably better left out.

Great Texas Home Cooking. Received great reviews on other sites.
I had an early lunch here a few weeks ago. I came for breakfast, but they don't serve all-day, so I elected to stay and have lunch. The food wasn't objectionable, but it didn't distinguish itself either. The place was about 25% occupied and my take service was TERRIBLE. I am not likely to return anytime soon.

What a wonderful treat. Sunny Street Cafe has fantastic service with delicious food. It is a breakfast and lunch establishment that serves up amazing food. This is our favorite place in Weatherford Texas. We will stop here when traveling I-20 from now on.
