Just spent a glorious nine days in Watch Hill after the tourist season is over. Wonderfully peaceful and beautiful. Ate all over the region and although not every meal was great, every place we went, the staff were welcoming and friendly. Sorry to say that our dinner at Olympia Tea Room was the exception. We really enjoyed the dining room, very comfortable and pleasant. It was pretty noisy and kind of hard to hear, but not terrible. But, the waiter was cold, not attentive, and not very welcoming at all. She wasnt nasty, she just wasnt very nice. The menu is pretty nice with lots of variety, but all of the dishes we tried were simple okay. The chicken Milenaise was lifeless and really less than ordinary. The black bass special was okay. Not great. Nothing stood out, and the poor service made it less than a great experience.

I met a friend for breakfast at the Cooked Goose this week and had one of the best breakfast meals I have had in a long time. Delicious fresh food prepared beautifully!
We talked for two hours and were not rushed, the coffee kept coming and it was a very nice experience. The best eggs Benedict that I have ever had.

We decided to try this local spot off-season. It has “no reservation”
dining. It was happily crowded and lively - with friendly greetings and encouraging words to “get a drink and sit on the porch or wherever you like!” We chatted with other patrons and loved looking at the hallway nautical prints and artwork.
We received a text that our table was ready. Our waitress was polite, perky and efficient. Our lobster bisque arrived quickly and we enjoyed it as well as our choices for dinner: sea scallops and salmon entrees. Both were perfect in presentation and taste.
Our drinks were refilled - we had no room for dessert - but they looked yummy.
We are keeping our boat in this adjacent boatyard - so we will be back!
Do try this waterside watering hole- but don’t come if you are watching the clock- it is most enjoyable when you can take in the atmosphere and local friendly chatting that enhances your visit!

Classis sandwich shop that's been a mainstay in Watch Hill for generations. The lobster roll is crammed with fresh lobster and the RI calm chowder is the best in southern New England. The real draw however is their ice cream which is made every day right on the premises. Peach ice cream made with fresh peachs, coffee oreo cookie and chocolate peanut butter cup are just some of the choices which change regularly. It is not to be missed!!
Located very close to the historic Watch Hill carousel, this family business has been in Watch Hill since 1887. Now being managed by James, the fourth generation, to run this very informal local business.
On one side of this establishment is the notable ice cream bar featuring homemade ice creams in a wide variety of flavors. This seems to be a favorite of customers. In the short time we were there, the line was steady with lots of happy ice cream eaters enjoying everything from soft serve with coatings, cones and sundaes.
On the wall of the other side of this establishment is a blackboard menu with a large selection of items including New England and Rhode Island chowders, lobster rolls, sandwiches, hamburgers, and hot dogs. Also open for breakfast, the new menu slides down over the lunch menu at appropriate times.
Out door and indoor tables. Informal service. A great place to hang.

Did a week with the family and at first thought it was too crowded, busy, etc. for a good family dinner with the kids. But during the week it was great. Great views. Ice cream sales tent, had a henna tattoo thing one night. has TV at the bar, outdoor fireplace. We concluded weekends as a couple or with older kids perhaps. less crowded and busy, high chair okay for during the week. Food was good, the smores desert was cool and novel. prices seemed typical for the area. parking is an issue all around there, have to pay for it because people use it to go to the beach. absolutely packed parking by late morning. we were able to walk so not sure how that works but wanted to mention.

An adorable little restaurant in the Stonington borough with great breakfast. We both got the blueberry pancakes and they were excellent! Not only were the virtually the size of hub caps, but they were fairly priced as well, a nice surprise. Will be back!

Took my daughters out for lunch. We had the grilled cheese and meatball sandwiches on their fantastic pretzels. Our sandwiches were hot and tasty. Sandwiches are served with chips of your choice. Even on a midweek day, there were quite a few patrons for lunch. Our server was courteous. Wished he checked in with us a bit more (needed another beverage LOL). But overall a nice lunch.

We were staying next door at The Sandcastle and would have our breakfast every morning at Little Mermaids. Breakfast was cooked to order, and prices were reasonable. Had lunch one day and the grilled chicken sandwich was seasoned nicely and delicious. Plus it has a great view of the beach. A thumbs up!

Come taste the Finest Gelato Watch Hill has to offer. At Gramma's you will be wowed by our Ambassadors they will explain the menu i.e. low fat, sugars, allergies etc. Also, try our all natural smothies!!!!! Having a wedding or special event call Gramma's!
Not only is the cafe unique inside and the gelato "out of this world" delicious, but the owner and staff go above and beyond to help customers. During my last visit on 7/18, I carelessly left my WALLET behind! I didn't discover it missing until the next day. After getting my documents replaced, I returned home to a phone call from Mark. He had my wallet and was holding it for me at the Cafe. I picked it up on Wednesday, intact. Many thanks to the staff that found it and Mark calling me and holding it for me! They are the best!
