Welcome to Cafe Dodici, a restaurant with a mission to represent the essence of its own definition: "to restore". The intended goal of Lorraine Williams, her Italian husband, Alessandro Scipioni and Tsalika Rich is to offer more than simply a place to eat; they want to give the gift of good, wholesome food, served with the purpose of replenishing energy in an enjoyable and refined dining environment. Our restaurant's goal is to be a fulfilling dining experience on every level. Food unites families, friends and people of all backgrounds around a table; it is food that keeps your body, mind and soul healthy, rejuvenated and happy. Cafe Dodici takes pride in the quality of its food; in order for us to enjoy the life essence of what we eat, we take particular measures to ensure that our foods' natural, nourishing qualities are respected in the cooking process.
This is a surprising find....wonderful Italian food is a quiet small Iowa town. They even have a B & B attached. So, drink all the vino you want!

Wonderful gathering place, friendly atmosphere, great selection of beverages. The personal service is always efficient, friendly; this lady knows her clientele, visit once and she'll be able to remind you what your last order was, great oasis in a busy world.

Everything was pretty average - which is fine as the typical Chinese place in Iowa is pretty good. My tofu with vegetables was edible, barely. Tofu really needs to be firmed up by frying it for a minute before vegetables are added. Not here, though. The brown sauce was pretty tasteless. So, I ate my food, but I will not return. Entree plus iced tea $10.00 plus tax and tip.

Jaron, the owner, is willing to do anything that you suggest for food. I had my birthday party there last June and he had some wonderful suggestions. The salad, sandwiches, etc. were excellent. I heard many positive comments. He was willing to allow me to decorate the area designated for my party. I loved that part! He came to my table and checked to make sure the food was acceptable. He even played a song on the piano for me. I didn't have to pay any reservation fee. I told him about how much a plate I wanted to spend. It was an experience to remember!

Small town bar with great foods. Everything from good appetizers to prime rib dinner. Our table had a variety of appetizers plus some food items and everything was very good. The seating filled up quickly during the dinner hour and after 7:30 it was mostly people stopping by for a couple drinks and laughter. The staff on a Friday night were quick to come to our table for drink refills, the bathrooms were clean, the entire area was kept ckean, and the mixed drinks were made well.

The omelets and breakfast food is consistently good. It is a family diner. Very reasonably priced and varied menu. Friendly, local service. Everyone liked their food.

We like to go to new towns and try new restaurants on Sunday. We drove 80 miles to check out Washington, and this restaurant in particular. It was #6 on Washington's best restaurant list. After eating there, I can say that it was pretty typical of most Chinese buffets. It has about everything you would expect. There were two desserts I have never seen on a Chinese buffet, however. One was two flavors of whip, and the other was a peanut brittle. Although I appreciate this little bit of variety, I have to say the whips were good, but the peanut brittle had entirely too many peanuts in it.
Most of the time we were there, there was only one woman on the floor. She was hard working and very polite. When we paid, there was a man there, not sure he understood everything we said to him, but that's okay. Overall, not a bad experience, but I was hoping for something new and different, and after coming 80 miles, the restaurant really didn't deliver that. The cost was fairly typical as well. If I was down in that area again I would probably stop in again, and I would hope they would introduce new items occasionally.

Stopped on way thru on a Friday night. Place was clean and inviting, salad bar was adequate, several salads available along with lettuce salad and good toppings, no soup available however. Pizza was average, disappointed many options on buffet, cheese, sausage, pepperoni, and beef. No meat lovers or supreme. No toppings for ice cream. Overall just okay, for ten dollars a person expected a little more variety.

This is a fun little corner business right in downtown Washington; they have delicious flavors to choose from. I had one with coconut and hot fudge swirls--can't remember the name. There are very cute decorations inside, and the service was friendly. This is a great place to take the kids for a cone!

I know that the bread and the vegetables will always be fresh. My favorite is the chicken with sweet onion sauce. Never have been disappointed in whatever I ordered.
