We were in the neighborhood, so we stopped by. I liked the lychee and Choco Mac Nut flavor. The purple ice cream was interesting to look at but tasted like plain sweet cream.

Ono Steaks and Shrimp Shack is located just off the main street in Waimanalo. If you are going to the beach (which you definitely should because Waimanalo is the best all-around beach on the island), stop by this local restaurant and pick up a terrific lunch. I would recommend the Garlic Shrimp and Steak. It is full of locals so it must be good, right? The Fried Shrimp are also very good. It is very casual and affordable. We always stop when we make a visit to Waimanalo Beach. You should do so too!

A wonderfully creative exploration of healthy, delicious, plant-based, Hawaiian cuisine operationalized via sustainable/regenerative business design and development ... an incubator of soilmates :-)
Decided it was another beautiful day to travel around Oʻahu, so after a quick trip to the post office, we headed to the Ahupuaʻa of Waimanalo! The scenery is always breath taking and other than dodging scooters and watching people go on ledges they should not, it was a perfect trip which finished with lunch at ʻAi Love Nalo. It was our first time there though we had heard about it from friends. One of us had the lunch special, meatball sandwich with salad and the other the luau. Both were very tasty and we enjoyed them a lot. Vegan or not, there is something for everyone here. Service was excellent with staff asking us how things were while we were eating. Definitely highly recommend this restaurant. Great to support local !

You know I love getting out of Honolulu...if anything, it is cheaper to dine and get a quality meal. We had their famous "grog" sandwiches. $9.00 In town it would easily have cost us $11-12.
Delicious food, friendly service and Air-conditioned cool(!). The A/c cannot be underappreciated on a hot weekend day.

Gourmet authentic French crepes at a reasonable price. Selections include both sweet and savory choices as well as a selection of loose leaf teas, Illy Italian coffee, and local beers and wine.
Thanks to TripAdvisor, we happened upon this wonderful restaurant and had a great breakfast. I never realized how creative crepes could be until I read through the menu at Crepes No Ka 'Oi. The descriptions were fantastic, and the food delivered on those promises. The crepes were tastier than any of the ones we had in France. The couple who own this restaurant were delightful to talk with, and we also enjoyed chatting with the locals. This restaurant has covered tables on an outside patio in a quiet neighborhood. This meal was a great pleasure.

Thank you, dj
Loved the fish tacos and the Ono with the mango salsa---already thinking of how to replicate it at home. Came here for lunch and decided to take out another Ono plate to split with my hubby for dinner---portions are huge! Coming back here tomorrow to try out their garlic shrimp and see how they compare with the shrimp trucks in Kahuku.

Keneke's is a great little local spot to try popular plate lunches of Hawaii. Food is good and fresh and reasonably priced. Doesn't look like much but everything we ordered was delicious!

Here we are again. Having visited a year ago we couldn't wait to come out again. We drove from Waikiki just for lunch here and again were not disappointed. We have sampled lots of Waikiki restaurants and the food here at least matches the best. We had a bit of everything but next time I think we'd go for pork ribs. Pulled pork. Rice beans and corn cakes. Yum.
See you again soon.

We were looking for someplace, not fastfood to have a quick lunch on our way to the beach. To my delight, they had things all my family would end up loving AND, to my delight, I could order breakfast for myself all on top of rice! We always eat breakfast at the hotel so I never get to eat my favorite meal out. Not so on this trip. We found Ken's and had a delicious meal. Several days later we were heading into the same area and we decided to come back. We were treated like old friends. I'm not sure how many non-locals they get, but they sure treated us nicely. My one daughter got grilled cheese sandwich, the other got a cheeseburger and my husband got the delux hamburger.. I got two eggs over easy on toast which was on rice with bacon. The best deals we got on the island was at Ken's. Highly recommend this little mom and pop shop!

Island Snow offers lots of options to enjoy dessert. We liked the ice cream on the bottom. I went for a more island combination with pina colada, coconut and another flavor. It was a nice refreshment. I would have appreciated some suggested combinations to try - recommended favorites or trials.
