The Casa das Velhas restaurant presents different areas guests can enjoy differently depending on the time of the year:In Winter one can stay at the bar overlooking the Boega island. The cozy setting offers pleasant and comfortable times during rainy days.In Summer time, guests can enjoy the sail-shade in the outside stone-paved areas, which harmonize with the outer facing of the stone walls. The main space is decorated with a palette of green tonalities.
Restaurant quiet Modern, Fresh and nice inside. Also very nice outside, with a Magnificent View, looking at the River Minho and Spain, on other side. Food really quite nice, service good, prices also good and the WIne List ok. Have a great Apple Crumble for Sweet!!

Our restaurant is located in Eiras (O Rosal), from here you can see an amazing landscape where Galicia and Portugual lands are united. In 1988 O Lagar opened its doors in old cellar of typical Galician farmer's house. It has got two different indoor dining areas and one Terrace outdoor. We cook honest, seasonally and local food. We also have an vegetable garden organic, natural and without chemical products. In addition, an important part of our purchases are organic and local production.O Lagar opens at lunch time like a restaurant and at dinner time with a tapas food.
The food on offer is created with a distinct touch to offer something that is not found elsewhere.
Galician delicacies with a personal touch in a unique old-world atmosphere by the fireplace in winter and the option of dining in a quiet garden in summer.
Ample parking on site. Use a GPS tracker to find the restaurant or ask someone who knows where it is first!

We went for Sunday lunch, pre booked for roast lamb shanks. Friends had recommended this place and they were spot on.The meal was wonderful. The lamb was full of flavor, tender, moist and had a hint of rosemary and garlic. The potatoes were proper English style Sunday roast potatoes and plenty of lovely gravy. All very very yummy.
The main room in this quaint restaurant was very cosy, large lit fireplace, minimal but very effective Christmas decoration and comfortable chairs to sit on. There is a second dining room but that looks more like a hotel breakfast room and very pink. Not in keeping with the rest of the place with it's old world charm. There is a lovely court yard with Seating and a cottage garden to look at. Of course in December not much use other than for a smoke.
In winter this restaurant is open for lunch on Weekends and from 20.00 dinner. Summer they are open every night except Mondays.

This is a lovely place to eat, but please note that it is not at the address quoted. In fact is in the town of Vila Nova de Cerveira, about 5kms away. Same street address, just a different town. Well worth a visit though.

We had lunch here: I tried the octopus, which was delicious and generously served. My family had meat, some had codfish "à Maria José", and said it was delicious (beware in case you don't eat meat: they put ham in the codfish dish). Extensive choice of wines. As a starter we asked for the cheese+ham plate, which was disappointing (the only low point of the meal). Friendly staff.

Abrigo das Andorinhas, is a good old fashioned restaurant, with 2 small dining rooms.
The service was attentive, prompt and always with a smile.
The food is very typical of the region and deliciously prepared.
We became fans and actually repeated the visit during our stay in Cerveira.

My wife, two friends and I ate here just over a week ago on the 5th night of our Camino walk from Porto. Following a beer each, I ordered fillets of cod (fried in batter) which were served with a few chips, rice and salad. All perfectly edible, though you need to watch for an occaional bone. I can't recall what my companions ate, but recall that we all enjoyed our meal, though didn't think it was anything special.

It's been quite a while since I had such a wonderful pizza.
Correct amount of everything, from the tomato sauce to the mozzarella cheese, not forgetting mushrooms and olives, as well as the other ingredients.
Very well cooked. The base add the perfect texture and taste and it wasn't 'carbonized' like many Italian restaurants often do.
It didn't took that much to have them made even taking into consideration that the bases were not previously done.
The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because in spite of having a nice, modern and fresh look it's a bit tight in there. It's not the case of having too many tables because they can very well handle it, it's the space that it's a bit small...

We called in here after seeing the sign from the side of the road. It was clean and well set up. not too many people in but it was late and we were hungry.
We couldn't read the menu, but my brother asked for steak and the waiter pointed it out. we all just decided to have steak . great choice. It was perfect. beautifully tender and tasty. served with frites - very like crisps, but we forgot to put the "batato" first, we May have got chips if we had.
The waiter was very friendly and attentive. excellent service, excellent food, what more do you need,
after we had ordered, a fellow diner asked if she could help us as she spoke english, so it was a pity we ordered in such a hurry as there may have been something different we would have liked..
we would definitely go back there again.

Snacks, seafood soup, cataplana and dessert were on the menu. It was all good with the exception of the cataplana which I thought was outstanding. It was loaded with clams, prawns and octopus plus a couple of different kinds of white fish and the whole family wiped their plates clean. The menu also included house wine and live music. Excellent value.
