This restaurant is a regular stop for us when traveling once a year. Been coming here for decades! Always clean, well staffed, good food. Only drawback is the restroom. It's a one holer, so you gotta get in line first. Then order your food. Get the fresh made lemonade.

Great place for a nice dinner with friends and family. Lively place - many couples and families enjoying a nice dinner. Our party had grilled chicken, grilled salmon, and chicken fried steak. Everything was good. This place serves beer on draught and in a bottle. Tea is sweet and unsweet. This place has a nice vibe - it has the original tin ceiling. Not sure what this building used to be, but it must do great business. It's located across the street from the courthouse. Looking forward to our next visit.

A must on your trip to/through Vernon. Don't be concerned by its small size and décor. The food is outstanding. From the comfort of grilled cheese sandwiches, to really good fried bologna sandwich to great chicken salad, it was great. And the fried Okra was wonderful. The hamburgers looks great and the French fries were home made. And the fried pies, simply awesome. A great place to eat.

The most wonderful little cafe has opened in Mount Vernon, Texas on Main Street. They serve home cooked meals with fresh, locally grown foods. The staff is friendly, the prices great, and everything is delicious.
The Chicken Fried Steak is quickly becoming legendary! And the desserts....oh, my!
You will love it!

Stopped at Lupe's (after searching tripadvisor) on our way to Amarillo for the Labor Day weekend. Service was great, the lunch portion of fajitas and the stuffed sopapilla was great, and they even did a special, plain taco for the little guy (he looooved it, too!). Lupe's was a great little stop along the way. Will definitely be repeat customers next family trip!

Bevo's Drive-In in Vernon is more of a sit-down place now, with about 13 booths and 3 or 4 tables. The owners are obviously big fans of University of Texas Football, from the name to the burnt orange paint above 1/2 paneled walls and lots of UT football posters, pictures, and memorabilia. Clean, with friendly staff. Good hamburger, rated 2 napkins. I ordered the onion rings and thought the breading overdone. Not fast food, all meals are cooked to order. Good price, under $10 with drink.

Don't let the metal building turn you away. A pleasant dining experience awaits just inside. Our group enjoyed one of the best beef filets we've ever had, along with salad, baked potato and Texas toast all for $17.95, all the while listening to George Strait on the jukebox. Dessert was a choice between Red Velvet or Italian Cream Cake. It's the kind of place where everyone knows your name. Good times.

This place is located on the access road to 287 on the southbound side. With less than adequate outside maintenance it looks like a place to pass by. However , the breakfast, served most the day is good. Fried eggs on request, pancakes, egg dishes, bacon, sausage, gravy, oatmeal, coffee all included in the under $8.00 price. The sauces are very good as is the beans and wieners also included. There are also sandwiches, and mexican dishes. We have stopped here a few times with good results. The inside is not really well maintained but is clean

They have a new menu & so far everything has been excellent
the experience of a lifetime….just go and enjoy.
they will tell you that they have the best burger in town and the best chicken fried steak in the county….they might not be wrong.
watch your drinks….anything other than rail and you end up buying the bottle.

This local pizzeria has been here for 20 plus years. I travel to Dallas and usually call in an order to pick up. A hamburger sub. Very good sandwich.
Today though, we stopped in to eat the buffet. The pizza has thin crust, and it was fresh. They added more pizza as we ate, and the place filled up around 12. Salad bar is not large but sufficient to go with pizza, and cinnamon bread.
The place is worn and a little shabby, but today it was clean.
And a good local non chain, eating spot. I recommend it over the chains nearby.
