Things to do in Vemdalen
Brasserie Bjrnrike, literally 'Kingdom of the Bears', claims to have the best view in the whole of the Vemdalen valley. Why not visit the restaurant, look out over Snfjllet mountain and Bjrnriket's magnificent ski slopes and decide for yourself. The brasserie serves not only lunch and dinner, but also breakfast and cakes and pastries to enjoy with a cup of coffee. After a day on the slopes, why not relax in the inviting armchairs for some of the brasserie's aprs ski. Weather permitting, you can also sit on the veranda situated outside the dining room.

We just stopped here for cakes on the way back from skiing but ended up also getting a really nice loaf. Cakes were very nice. Everything fresh.

We had a take away from here during our ski week, we sat and had a beer whilst we waited for our order to be cooked and the service was friendly and we were made very welcome. The food was very good, we had a selection of stir fry dishes, and felt the quality was fresh and tasty. The actual restaurant is clean, about 10 tables, and like most places in the area prepared for people with ski boots! They were advertising a lunch buffe.

We were for dinner there and its important to book your table in advance as its normaly quite full. The menu was good and price is reasonable but not cheap! We recommend it for a fine 3 course dinner in Vemdalen

A Swedish version of a ski hütte located in the bottom of the slopes in Skalspasset, Vemdalen. Simple standard food such as hot dogs, burgers and goulash soup. You do not visit Anorak for outstanding gourme experiences, but for the hospitality, the relaxed atmosphere and the personal service.
A nice thing about Anorak is that they have not been as American inspired as the rest of Vemdalskalet. They have retained their distinctive character.

First, I have to point out that the food was absolutely excellent. It was all splendidly cooked and delicious down to the last bite.
The service, however, was terrible. This was a surprise to us, seeing as how we visited last year and were treated to a splendid experience.
But something had changed.
The orders were taken with an air of condescension and annoyance, and we were spoken to in a most unpleasant tone throughout.
One of our party got her order filled incorrectly no less than three times in a row, there was no list of beverages of any kind, and we were nigh mocked when we asked for one.
In the end we were required to sort out our tabs ourselves, with the staff leaving us to calculate how to allocate the costs between us without help. A unique experience to be sure.
We came back here this year because we were so impressed with our first visit. We shall sadly not be returning.

We had a very nice dinner at the sportbar. Very convenient with the location of the restaurant in the middle of everything. The food was good, staff was nice and I can highly recommend the mushroom soup!

If you manage to get a table at the restaurant "Toppen" up on Skalspasset so is the opportunity for a nice lunch, very large. Friendly staff and good ski lunch for all ages. Here are the most of any age in the way of food. In bad weather, it will be packed right up here. When the sun shines, sit outside and enjoy.
