In Sweden normal bars are rare indeed: food seems to come first, and so many places offer drinks and meals. But this nice place offers much of what we commonly look for in a bar or pub. We were here on a Friday night, with many many others. Beer (and wine per glass) is good, but, as everywhere in Sweden, expensive. But this is just part of the Sweden travel experience...

For a light Sunday evening meal a friend and I tried this roof top dining. It was excellent. Although I don't remember the name of the dish, we had the traditional Swedish sandwiches. They were the most brilliant taste of Sweden. This place has the most delicious bread! We ate outside and the view was terrific. They do have inside dining too. Some will say this is overpriced, but the food is worth it! We did have the breakfast the next morning too which was outstanding. Definitely worth a second or third trip.

I called in and the staff was really friendly. They had my order ready within 5 to 10 minutes. Everything was fresh and tasted great. I would recommend for take out or for a casual meal. It's not a fancy place but a nice place to eat with friends.

I can't believe there is no comment about this place! The pastries are the yummiest, there is a large choice of tea, free refill of tea/coffee. Their bagels are perfect (particularly the salmon one, to my opinion). The coffee shop is very cute. You HAVE to go there whenever you're in Växjö!

We celebrated my birthday at this small and cozy Mexican restaurant during our holiday. Very friendly staff who could proudly guide us through the menu card filled with delicious homemade dishes. We tried almost everything, along with a tasting of two different mezcals. The place is clean and nicely decorated. I wish I had a place like this in my hometown.

It is quite funny but you will find the two best burger places in Växjö right opposite to each other. Grilleriet which this place is now called serves great burgers with a nice sortment of condiments and always this week specials.

En izakaya är en japansk pub eller "slink in". De kan vara lyxiga eller enkla men de vällagade smårätterna står alltid i centrum.
A visit to the Izakaya is a sure thing for business or just for a night out with friends. Everyone can find something to their liking in this vast list of dishes. Tell the staff if you have food allergies and they will tell you exactly what you can and cannot eat. The atmosphere is great, the place is always full, the food really good and you will leave feeling one great night out richer. Try it!

Loved eating at Smak. First time we had the best spare ribs ever, the second time we went back to have them again, but....they took them off the menu! Bummer! But we had some good alternatives that were also quite good. The chef knows what he's doing, the staff is friendly. Prices are at the high end though.
