We were celebrating my daughter's 18 years birthday, and got the 10 course menu. It was delicius, no doubt about that, but I might have expected more from a two-star Michelin restaurant. To really appreciate this restaurant, I think the wine menu is a must, as the wines are really spectacular. My husband got the wine menu, and was very happy about everything. The 10 course dinner was really innovative and interesting, but I think it would be difficult for the food in it's very own right to deserve two Michelin stars. The service was very friendly and professional with a few slips here and there. Anyhow, we had a wonderful evening.

This is definetly my favourite place in Udine! Fun atmosphere, nice people, good wine and an amazing huge Mortadella that you can taste it in a Sandwich or just while you are having a Spritz. I also loved porchetta another kind of salami I guess! If you come to this city you must visit Pieri for a quick lunch or for the happy hour!

if you want a great sushi in Udine you have no choice, Tokio is the place to be. Always great selection of fresh fish, nice tempura and cooked dishes. a must is the "spicy shrimp tempura roll" and the "tokio roll".
the wine selection is also nice, with local withe wines.
the number of seats is limited, so place a call and book your table in advance. The only real con is that the place is small and sometime this is leading to a bit of noise.
the sushi bar offers also the "take away" option.

Cosy, elegant, but not fussy, not noisy; very friendly staff, fresh fish, tasty meat, good selection of wines! Can see here a variety of clientele: business people, families with grown up children, couples...
I have eaten here at least 5 times, and can say that never left a piece on my plate. From a variety of starters to a selection of desserts - everything was tasty and had some very special details that are unconventional.
To give you an example, try their appetizer "millefeuille with fois gras and berries"..... Nice? Worth trying!)

We found this place somehow by chance, inspired by the many Sardinia dishes written down in the welcome board. And what a surprise! The hosts are friendly and fun, everything was fresh and perfectly prepared, with a menu that proposes quite a lot of starters...MoreThank's Mr. Daffara !!! Troppo gentile.... commossi ringraziamo Massimo & Silvia

If you plan to do just one thing in Udine, go to Hosteria alla Tavernetta for dinner. Fantastic atmosphere, great food and great service. The menu looks good in all aspects and they have a good selection of local wines...great reasonably priced wines. We had a fun evening for the second time in this place and we will go again.

The ambient is really nice, old-fashioned and homely, though it was pretty cold inside in spring. Obviously, the owner was saving on heating, so we put on our coats back. Otherwise the owner was extremely friendly and helpful.
The menu is pretty extensive with lots of dishes to choose from. The duck was excellent, however my steak was nothing special and, moreover, poorly presented. Actually there was just a bare piece of meat on the plate and nothing else.

if you want a nice reastuarant, with waiters in uniform, warm light and design furniture FORGET IT. if you want to have GREAT meat, cooked on the grill this is the place. the restaurant is furnished with motorbike and car memorabilia, nice place to have a dinner with friends (maybe less with a girlfriend...). the meat is alwys wonderful, for really cheap prices... but the seats are few, so booking in advance is a must.
