Ubon Ratchathani (Thai: อุบลราชธานี, pronounced [ʔubon râːt.tɕʰa.tʰaːniː]) is one of the four major cities of Isan (Khorat/Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, and Khon Kaen), also known as the "big four of Isan". The city is on the Mun River in the south-east of the Isan region of Thailand. It is known as Ubon (อุบลฯ) for short. The name means "royal lotus city". The provincial seal features a pond with a lotus flower and leaves in a circular frame. Ubon was the administrative centre of Ubon Ratchathani Province. As of 2006, the Ubon urban area had a population of about 200,000. This included 85,000 in Thetsaban Nakhon Ubon Ratchathani (Ubon municipality), 30,000 each in Thetsaban Mueang Warin Chamrap (Warin municipality) and Thetsaban Tambon Kham Yai, 24,000 in Thetsaban Tambon Saen Suk, 10,000 in each of Thetsaban Tambon Pathum and Tambon Kham Nam Saep, and 6,000 in Thetsaban Tambon Ubon.

Spago Italian Restaurant is a welcome addiction to the small number of Western restaurants in Ubon Ratchathani. We specialise in Original Italian food prepared and cooked by owner and professional Italian chef. Pizza, pasta, vegetarian and many delicious dishes on our extensive menu. Apart from our wonderful food we have a well stocked wine cellar, wine by the glass from bottled wine, cocktails, spirits and a large range of local and imported beers. Our in house pasty chef creates cakes and Deserts to tempt one and all. We look forward to greeting you at Spago Italian restaurant. We accept Visa and Master card for your convenience
My experience at Spago has been thoroughly satisfying enough. They serve great pastas, good wine and pizzas that are decent enough. I do feel that any restaurant deserves a few chances and I haven't tried enough menu items yet. I am excited to go again now that they have reopened and see what the new menu has to offer - which might make me change my rating.

I was there alone, with family and colleagues. The food is great and of high quality.
What's really important is that the food's always fresh, I was never disappointed.
No matter if you try still alive shrimp or any other dishes, it's a nice place to eat out.

Welcome to Peppers Restaurant & Bakery. We offer a large selection of Western and Thai food as well as quite a assortment of homemade cakes and pastries. Or just enjoy a Latte in our comfortable, air-conditioned, couch area ( Free Wifi ) or sit outside and watch the planes land and take-off. We look forward to serving you soon.
We dined here on the strength of its popularity for good steak. They offer a choice of Western cuts and boast they're the best Farang food restaurant in Ubon.
We ordered shrimp rolls for starters. They hadn't been on the table 2 minutes when a waiter served one of our steaks (medium). We sent it back as we hadn't eaten our first course. If our second steak hadn't been ordered well done then that too would likely have been served too soon.
The steaks were from a local farm of some note. The meat was really delicious. Just a shame the staff had no training in how to serve to European standards, and instead just delivered the food as and when it became available out of the wok Thai style.
We brought a bottle of own wine and the corkage was 200B.
We would need to be in a good mood to return.

Having lived in Ubon for 5 years now, we have tried many, many restaurants. This is clearly the best in quality, ambience AND value.
It is much cheaper than the higher rated restaurants on this list while keeping great quality. My favourite dishes are the risottos and pizzas. Next time I'm trying the cheesecake (to see if they can make genuine cheesecake, which is very hard to find in Thailand). To add to the good points above, I always feel like I'm eating in someone's home - given its homely feel inside. The only issue I have is that they accept only cash (not credit card), but this is not a big deal as it is cheaper than the other restaurants anyway.

It was big at the previous place but this new joint is even bigger! Massive Thai menu, inside air con area as well as outside area. Orders taken via iPads etc. Service can be slow, food and drinks are pretty good. Live entertainment later in the evening. A good place for a night out with friends, not a romantic dinner. Look out for the mozzies.

This is my family's favourite restaurant in Ubon. Consitantly great food, drinks and entertainment. Fantastic range of seafood and fish as well as the usual range of beer and wine. You can dine inside or out. Great staff who are very professional delivering great service and advice. Do yourself a favour.

Fresh veggies and food. Small restaurant but packed with flavour. They have air-conditioning which really helps during hot days.
A must try are -
Crispy pancakes
Nam Nuang
Banana flower spicy salad.
Service can be busy during lunch. (I always try to eat before or after peak hours.)

Tried the wrong way burger.
Delicious but the size was disappointing.
On the menu it seems as if it covers more than half the plate. (Photos below)
But in reality it is smaller than the palm of my hand.
Just onder 200 baht.
Thai food was good.
Condiments fresh.
Service was fine.
Good setting.
Pool table.
Friendly staff.

The Outside Inn is a unique and intimate place to stay, eat, enjoy a coffee or a drink, or just relax in Ubon Ratchathani. Made-from-scratch Mexican food, amazing burgers and other American & Western choices, as well as a full Thai menu. A full drink menu including authentic cocktails, beer, wine, coffee, and other non-alcoholic drinks. A beautiful garden setting with classic Thai and Isaan style and architecture. All located in the city of Ubon, within easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and night life.
We not only enjoyed the Tex-Mex queso & chips, but 3 other Mexican dishes on the menu. The Thai food menu looked good, but we were just in the mood for something different. We enjoyed everything! And getting to chat with the owner with his little daughter. Keeping this one on the list if we get back to Ubon.

We just arrived Ubon Ratchatani and want to have Noodle. This shop is not far from airport, just about 2 km.
We don’t disappoint with the taste. The soup is tasty, there is chicken, pork rib, pork sausage, egg to eat with noodle.
Recommended to try hot noodle soup here!!
