It is part of the Greenville–Mauldin–Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Travelers would often have to spend the winter there, waiting for the snow to clear in the mountains before continuing northward.

We offer folks a place to stop in off the Swamp Rabbit Trail, visit with old friends, have a bite to eat, and enjoy an old-fashioned sense of community. The sisters also invite you to browse through the gift shop that features unique food items and other products made right here in South Carolina.
We did not know what to expect and found it to be ok. Lots of locals. Food and service was ok. Everyone should try it and decide for themselves.

Arrived just before 8am and there was one person in the back. I kept waiting for someone else to come up and help the growing line of people, now five. Turns out there is only one person working the counter and making coffee. Lots of choices of coffee in the self serve area. I decided on the peaberry and really enjoyed the rich flavor. It was good enough for me to wait in line next time too.

If you are in (or anywhere near) Travelers Rest, make it a point to stop at Tandem Creperie & Coffee House! We stopped for a later breakfast and everything we tried was absolutely delicious!! Savory or sweet - either way, you won't be disappointed. Staff was very friendly and gracious and the coffees were excellent as well. (The honey lavender latte is especially good.) Tandem, you made our morning!

Upcountry Provisions is open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday-Saturday. Their menu includes a selection of sandwiches on fresh baked breads and a case full of baked goods made fresh each day.
Whether one seeks a meal (the soups, frittatas and sandwiches are all great) or a treat (the cookies--especially that Diablo sandwich, with the whipped peanut butter--are amazing) it would be hard to go wrong here. And, in addition to having an imaginative kitchen and reasonable prices, the funky "as-cool-as-Asheville" vibe makes this place virtually one-of-a-kind. Visit soon; take one or five of those Diablo things home with you.

After walking swamp Rabbit Trail, we ate at Williams cafe then went next door for ice cream. It was great but I thought portions were a little small. Also, the ice cream was a little too soft. It was beginning to melt before I could...MoreThank you for the feedback! We do our best to keep the ice cream at perfect serving temp, but the SC humidity can make it hard at times. We appreciate all our service men & women!

Great little pizza spot @ original location in TR. Food is awesome with fresh ingredients and creative combinations. The only complaint I ever have is that they're so busy you have to wait to sit, and that's nothing that they could (or should) try to change! Even with the volume, the staff is fast, polite, and efficient. About 18 months ago, we lost a local officer. Sidewall created a special pizza in his honor, asked folks to pay whatever they could for it, and gave all proceeds to his family. Top notch!
...and if you want a recommendation, try the Bacon Bliss. I could probably eat two of them!

Creative tacos without the hassle of downtown Greenville parking. There weren't a ton of vegan options, but the server made great suggestions and was willing to help figure it out. I don't like spicy, so he even allowed me to taste a sauce first to help decide.

We have eaten here many times and came away this evening feeling sadden. Our waitress was Blake and we got there a little after 5:00 before any crowd arrived. It took 10 minutes for our waitress come take our order after we placed our drink order. No croutons on salad nor were crackers offered. I order chicken Alfredo and did not get a roll! Paid $2.00 for coffee and no refill, which I would have said no thanks because it was not good. We walked away after paying $28.00 for our meal. Apparently management no longer cares because no one came by and asked, we were there over an hour. No excuses Shortfields, we’ve eaten here too many times!

Miserably full!! That's how I left this place! Had BBQ sandwich and baked beans! Baked beans had sausage and beef! I promise there was a pound of BBQ on the plate! Unreal! I was with a large group and they were very accommodating, attentive and grateful for our patronage. Others in my party had pimento cheese, Gouda bacon quiche, Cuban, sweet potato crunch... only thing I could say bad is that they couldn't tell me what kind of oil they used so those with allergies be aware. Otherwise don't miss this spot!
