Small restaurant specializing in AUTHENTIC philly cheese steak sandwiches. Worth reviewing.
I've lived in Mobile for 2 years and have driven by this place almost daily. Finally decided to try it and it was delicious. The owner came in as we were finishing and made sure to say hi to everyone in the restaurant, customers, Employees, everyone. We had the Bomb and a gyro, fries and onion rings. Everything was delicious. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

This was my first time trying Benja's, and I was extremely satisfied. We called in 7 separate orders and the lady on the phone was very friendly, they delivered it promptly, and the food was still hot when it was delivered. I will definitely be eating here again!

Down home, large portions of good ole country cooking, just like ya mama used to make!
We took some friends to Time To Eat for dinner. This was our second time there. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The prices are very reasonable and our food was really good. I had the chicken Fried Steak, my wife had a chili hamburger and our friends had the pork chops and a Hamburger. If you are looking for some good comfort food give this place a try. Its really good food at a good price.

Grandson suggested meeting here for lunch. It is convenient to Interstate with large enough parking lot for our RV. Lunch menu's only vegetarian option was salad. I ordered bean burrito forgetting to say no cheese. So I ignored the bit of cheese on top of...MoreThank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We really appreciate it, and we can't wait to have you back soon!

I am from Mobile but moved away about twenty years ago. I have eaten at Baudean's many times in the past and always had a good meal. However, my visit on Sunday was awful. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that it was hot inside. We were seated promptly and a waitress took our order. We got our drinks pretty quickly, but it was at least 30 minutes before we received our meals and the waitress never came back and filled our drinks until she brought our food. I ordered the shrimp and oysters. The shrimp were excellent, but half of my oysters were so over cooked that they were hard. For the most part the food was decent.
The dishonest part came when we got the check. My dad and husband ordered the shrimp, oyster and fish platter. When they ordered the platter they asked what kind of fish came on the platter. The waitress named off several different kinds of fish. My dad and husband chose one of the kinds of fish the waitress told them about. When we received the check, the $13.95 platter ended up being $18.95. When we questioned the waitress about it, she said there was a $5.00 up charge because they did not choose catfish. That was not on the menu, nor was it explained by the waitress.
A second bit of dishonesty occurred when we ordered grits with our platters. The waitress asked if we wanted cheese grits. My mother asked if that was included with the platter and the waitress said yes. When we received the check the waitress had charged the three of us that got the cheese grits an extra dollar for each order of grits and we had not been told the cheese was extra. We wouldn't have ordered cheese grits if we had known this. The grits were not very good either. They were cold and lumpy.
Finally, my dad ordered a draft beer and it was $7.95. That is our fault for not asking, but this place is sort of a dump and has no business charging that much for beer.
I guess the waitress knew we were from out of town and thought she would rip us off because we would never be back. We definitely will not be going back to Baudean's, but we drive to Mobile every couple of months just to eat seafood. We will be sticking to the Lighthouse in Bayou la Batre from now on. It is a much better restaurant and they don't try to rip you off.

Pelican Reef is located at the marina on Fowl River, right at the mouth of the bay. We usually eat on the Patio, looking out on the boats, & River. As we have a house on the Island, seafood isn't a novelty. So I usually go for the burger, it's a go to food for me, & this one stacks up with the best of them. They have seafood specials, that my wife usually orders. They have some excellent fresh fish. Service is above average, they have a bar, & I don't think I've ever had to wait to be seated. They have a buffet, some nights, but we usually order from the menu. If you're staying a week on the Island, this is a place you'll want to try.

They served soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Very nice people and good food.
Food was good, but prices were a little high, staff was pleasant. The tables were clean as was the silverware. A pleasant dining experience.

Some previous reviewers have objective to others calling this place a "Hole In The Wall" as if that's a bad thing. Where I grew up that was a good term used to refer to hidden gems of culinary excellence. Sakura fits that paradigm.
Small place with excellent service and great selection of sushi. Order two or more rolls and miso soup or salad is complimentary. I ordered miso and found it better than any I've tasted in a long while.
My Spider Roll and Shrimp Tempura were both excellent choices. I look forward to my next visit to the area to try some other selections.
Worth the short distance from I-10 if traveling. Be advised that my GPS program (WAZE) took me a 1/2 mile past this place. Look for Rouse's Market. Its adjacent to it.

Saturday morning 4/22/2017, I treated my wife and me to breakfast at this Waffle House. Even though the parking area was nearly full, we could be seated right away. Our service and food were outstanding. In less than a minute, our server had taken our beverage orders and when the drinks were served took our meal order. In less than five minutes our breakfast arrived cooked-to-order and was piping hot.

We stopped at Bayley's for lunch during a recent visit to Dauphin Island. I had been there years ago, but I did not remember anything about it. My family has a boat on the Dog River and property on Dauphin Island, so we visit the area regularly and are familiar with most of the good seafood places. We stopped at Bayley's because it was on our way from Dauphin Island to Mobile, and we needed someplace good for lunch. Unfortunately, Bayley's did not meet this need. The menu was extremely limited. The restaurant advertises that it has fresh, Gulf-caught shrimp, which may be true, but it is hard to tell because everything is fried. All the best seafood places in Lower Alabama have fresh catch fish options, but Bayley's did not, which automatically made them suspect. If you are visiting the area, bypass Bayley's and go on up to the Causeway or to Dauphin Island for a good seafood meal. Or, if you don't want to drive that far, just go down the road to Pelican Reef or Baudean's. Any of these options is better than Bayley's.
