The Valley is the capital of the British territory of Anguilla, and part of the Antilles Islands. A favorite vacation spot of water lovers, Anguilla is a popular destination for wreck diving, snorkeling, or parasailing. The historic district of The Valley is full of old-style wood houses, including the Wallblake House, one of the only surviving plantation houses in the Caribbean. The ruins of the Old Prison are at the highest point in Anguilla, and provide stunning views of the bright blue sea.

I thought I had walked into the set of the old TV show 'Cheers'!! There was the postal worker at the bar with a cast of other friendly characters, talking and laughing with each other. A steady stream of young girls in school uniforms paraded through to check in with mothers or fathers and some were picking up Takeout food. The resturant had about 15 tables plus the bar and there was a nice buzz of conversation. We ordered at the counter and sat down and the food was brought to us piping hot. The shrimp sautéed with pepper and onion was ample and delicious. The fish bits and fries were very good with a wonderful spicy bite to the fish.
Throw in a pleasant waitress, a couple of beers, toss with some local colorful characters and you have a great afternoon. Neither particular English, nor Rosey it's a fun place for a meal....wonder where the name came from?

Went here with my husband and 2 year old son and we LOVED it. Coming from a place where the pizza is unbeatable, I can honestly say it is fantastic pizza. Inexpensive in comparison to the rest of the country and flavourful! We got the veggie lovers and the meat lovers and both were loaded. Crust was soft and great! The cook was playing with out son in the lounge and he was having so much fun. They are so friendly (everyone here is). It's a little off the main road but definitely DEFINITELY worth it.

The Fat Cat is an absolute deligh of a Takeout shop.
First, you have to get over the prices, which went up again this year. Their lasagna is so expensive that its price is listed on the NY Stock Exchange right next to that of gold.
But then, if this is not the best lasagna you have ever tasted, you must have an Italian grandmother.
It's the blend of European cooking skill (although the owner is Anguillan) and Caribbean handling of flavours that is so wonderful. Everything is first class; favourites: pumpkin soup, rice and beans, salads (pasta, and a beautiful cole slaw). And coconut cookies (you have to try them).Unmistakably "island".
The fare is equal or superior to many restaurants in Anguilla.

Visited when staying with friends and we called in here 3 months after the hurricane. There was still an atmosphere of making a big effort to keep going and produce bread for the community, everyone in Anguilla was staying strong and pitching in bravely.
They sell a great range of jonny cakes, patties and other treats.
A visit here is a must to try local foods. Most loved the coconut cakes.

Absolutely mind blowing BBQ food. We sat at the wooden table and ate and ate and ate. Kept getting up for more. We actually took some away back to our hotel and I would say it tasted even better because it had time to sit in its own juices. Get there before the school kids come out as the Q was 4 deep! Please note that it is not only Pork that is served there is chicken as well. Ken's BBQ.

We dined at Veya the other night, despite previous visits being disappointing. This trip's visit was incredible and met my expectations. I had the surf and turf, my wife the butter poached lobster, and our friends the duck and snapper. All our meals were delicious. My steak melted in my mouth and the lobster was cooked to perfection. My wife broke down and had the chocolate cake for dessert, which she loved. Even the service was better and much friendlier. I have always found it to be a little too snooty but not this time.
The one negative I have to say and I am only hoping the manager reads it and rethinks ... We ordered a few extra things I wouldn't normally because I expected to get a discount with our Anguilla card. Other places we have gone and used the card take the 10% off the price on our bill and then we split the cost by putting in two credit cards 50-50. Has not been an issue. I actually mentioned this to our waiter and he said no problem. When the bill came I was informed to use the Anguilla card, I would have to show photo id (a little over the top since my face is on the card) and we couldn't use two credit cards to split the cost. I didn't understand why and still don't when I discussed it at another restaurant. They like me, were shaking our heads.
But despite that one flaw we had an excellent dinner and I have changed my opinion of this place.

Roy's is family owned and operated serving good food and good fun for over 30 years! Roy's is a quiet family restaurant located on the tranquil island of Anguilla in the British West Indies. did not eat here, just had beers but it sits right on Sandy Ground Beach and is a great spot. Beer was reasonably priced and very cold! Thanks, hope you make it back to sample from the kitchen!

We had the nachos, which were huge and very tasty. Can watch US sports on the TVs too, which was a bonus!

What an excellent meal. We stopped in for dinner and we were pleased with the food. We both had the special of the day which was pan seared snapper with a lemongrass sauce on it. Also served with it were mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The fish was moist and the sauce was light and flavorful. The potatoes and other vegetables were hot and very good. They serve Johnny cakes before the meal and they are a local item that is very good. The service was good and we will be back.

We spent three days here when the seas were too rough on other Beaches. Great lounge chairs, great beach for snorkeling, swimming and finding shells and sea glass. We had good drink service at our chairs and several good lunches in the restaurant. Very casual with a varied menu. Large portions and staff is very attentive.
