It took longer for our server to come to the table than it should have, and we waited 20 minutes for sandwiches and salads, but the food was really good. I would definitely come back. Hubby recommends Tuscan Turkey sandwich with the house salad. My daughter loved the Margherita flatbread pizza and I had the anti-pasto salad with cheese bread. All were excellent. The lunch specials were generous and a good value!

Great variety of ice cream flavors, good service, and generous portions. Our family craved this treat so much that we splurged on HUGE waffle cones daily during our week long stay in Tawas City. It has great "throw back" creamery shop decor. Many other food items available but we only indulged in waffle cones.

Went here this morning with my mom. We weren't greeted at the door and after waiting decided to just sit down at a dirty table. Finally after waiting a gal brought menus over and promised to clean the table off. She only took the dirty plates and never wiped the table off. We should've know to just leave at that point but didn't. We ordered breakfast and sat and waited, waited, waited even longer. What was the hold up??? This place wasn't even busy on a Friday morning. After 45 minutes we got the worst breakfast I've ever had served to me. It was a western omelette that had gobs of greasy mushrooms and onions rolled in a paper thin egg. I ate 3 bites and couldn't eat another. The taste was awful, like bad grease. The waitress ran past us once and as she was almost past us, she asked how things were. There was absolutely no time to answer. I gave up and didn't want to make myself sick. We sat again and waited and waited for the check. Finally, we walked up to the bar and asked for our check. I told her how bad the omelette was and she answered with, "You should've told me and I would've had hen remake it for you"! Omg, I didn't want another one! She proceeded to charge us for the omelette and my mothers eggs. Pretty ballsy! I even said aloud, "I get to pay for something I didn't even eat??" The service was horrible and the food wasn't worth the wait or the price for the quality of the items. Be warned, this isn't a place that you can't live without going to!!! They obviously don't care what they serve you, how they serve you or what you get served!

In the last month, I have been there twice trying to order a simple Turkey Club. The first time they were out of bacon, so we changed our order as Club without bacon is just a Turkey sandwich. The second time apparently they were out of the bread but instead of making us aware of that, they decided to bake our bread, luckily we were not on a time schedule so what seemed like at least 1/2 hour later our clubs showed up.
They made no effort to offer us even a coffee refill a very timbit, they did nothing .
In fact, until I finally went to the counter in this mostly empty restaurant they finally acknowledged that the bread was in the oven. Horrible way to treat your customers.

If you're like me, and thought a candy bar from CVS qualified as chocolate, are you in for a treat when you get a taste of the real thing at this gourmet chocolate shop! Who knew chocolate could be this smooth and creamy, and melt in your mouth like butter? And so full of flavor? From the chocolate/caramel apple wedges to the chocolate-dipped strawberries to the dark chocolate-dipped kettle chips, everything I've sampled thus far has been divine! (Which makes it hard to try something new!) And yet it's all very affordably priced. I never visit "The Tawases" without stopping in for my chocolate fix!

Loved our experience here! The waitstaff were very friendly, the food was hot and delicious, and it was not overpriced. The kitchen is open, so you can watch your food get made, which is cool. Very small place, but definitely cozy and welcoming.

Augie's is located right on Tawas Bay and US 23, super convenient with lots of parking. It's a relatively small restaurant, but summer deck seating expands capacity. The menu is extensive for the restaurant's size, with some good options for smaller meals. The taste seems to vary with the cook, but it's good ol' fashioned food. The service also varies. The other day we waited a long time for menus, and the server brusquely told us that they were "very busy". The restaurant basically emptied out from lunch, and we were still waiting. I asked about the meal and was reminded that they were "very busy". Oh, well. This seems to be the attitude too often during "tourist season". Still, it's worth a stop.

New restaurant in the former Chum's Bar location. Pretty good food.
Stopped by for dinner. Had a great bacon cheeseburger and fries. My mother-in-law had a taco salad. Both meals were very good and quite filling, plenty of leftovers! The burger was very good, it had all of the extras and the ciabatta roll was a nice touch. It held up much better than a standard roll that would have fallen apart from its size and burger's juiciness.

Opened just since August 2017, this is a breath of fresh air for the sunrise side of "up north" Michigan. There are very few restaurants along M23 that have a Lake Huron view. This one is directly across the street from a lakefront park.
Beautiful venue - crisp, light, open - nicely designed. Menu had a very nice variety. I had the smoked brisket tacos which are listed as an appetizer but really served as a full meal. Loved the brisket and all the accompaniments were fresh including the jalapeño.
Great selection of craft beers but also serves wine and full bar.
Chatted with the owners, very friendly staff - felt very comfortable eating solo.
I can't wait to go back and sample more.

Stopped on way back to bay city after spending the day at the beach. Everyone, 6, got blizzards. Doesn't everyone? Great treat after a hot day at the beach. Everyone loved them. Quite busy but they were very fast and got people through very fast.
