We had heard about this restaurant and were going to visit on the previous evening, but were too tired (it's a bit out & would have required a taxi. So we went for lunch, and it was excellent.
There is a varied menu, in English too, and everything we had was hot and delicious. One of us had plov (which is just like a risotto here), and I had what was most off-putting on the menu. It was described as meat with vegetables and "rolled dough". What on earth is that? Simple: thin lasagne-like sheets. Really, really good. Also a bonus to get wine by the glass. Very reasonable prices

The Plov centre of Tashkent is not recommended for travelers who love comfort and 5* restaurants but this is a place who love to eat 5* tasty food at 2* prices. You can walk and choose the plov you like the most and order it with some fresh salads...

Up market (for Tashkent) Georgian restaurant
This restaurant apparently called Georgian Yard in English was my first experience of Georgian cuisine. One of my friends there with me speaks Russian and loves Georgian food so was able to guide us through a wonderful dinner. Having said that, our waiter did speak English and there was an English menu.
The restaurant in decorated in Georgian themes that creates a great atmosphere. Although there is a hard tile floor, high ceilings and wooden surfaces seem to keep the noise levels moderate. Restaurant was busy with all sorts of groupings including a birthday celebration next to our table.
A great night out.

The restaurant is a part of Caravan Group restaurants.Capacity 70 people, vip-room, romantic decor, cleanliness, beauty, elegance, master classes, various actions, exclusive dishes such as Black Risotto, etc., -magical lions -plates signed by famous people (F. Kirkorov, Steffano Ricci ....) - Copies of the frescoes of the great artists of the Renaissance - 6 completely different and interesting spaces - Bodega - Chamber of Al Capone - Guided tours
I visited the restaurant with my girlfriend for lunch, with the intention of gauging the quality of Affresco's food and its potential as a wedding venue. The staff of the restaurant were very helpful in this regard, giving my girlfriend a tour of the premises while I settled the bill.
The food and drinks were a bit hit and miss, especially given their price. The latte I ordered was nice but the kompot left a lingering, unpleasant taste. My medium-done Al Capone steak was succulent and coated in rich cream but there was as much shrimp in the 'shrimp and avocado salad' as there is in the Aral Sea. It would require a microscope to find the overly ripe avocado slices amidst the lettuce leaves and rocket but I guess it was foolhardy of us to expect that the salad would be anything but a disappointment, given the 'foreign-ness' of the ingredients.
Affresco's decor is tasteful and its ambiance pleasant. The restaurant itself is located in a good area of Tashkent but is a bit hard to find as its sign is discreetly positioned on the side of the building. (If you have a hard time finding the place, I would recommend getting off at the main entrance of NEXT shopping mall and walking down the road away from it)
Overall a nice place but one could argue that there are other restaurants part of the Caravan franchise that are better.

It is listed in Lonely Planet, Central Asia
We turned up here for an evening meal. The welcome was friendly and we were told to take a seat. I had made a note of some dishes I wanted to try but they turned out to be daytime dishes so not available. The waiter ended up coming round the caldrons and noting down what we wanted. We selected tomato and cucumber salad, rack of lamb, lamb and vegetable hot pot, lamb with meat-stuffed vegetables, chickpea stew with sliced beef, with some bread. Probably a bit too much food but it all tasted great. The lamb rack was one of the best dishes, but the beef on the chickpea stew was quite tough. This is a place to have authentic, tasty food in a bustling atmosphere, not somewhere to have a leisurely meal. Recommended.

I've been for lunch a number of times, this time for dinner..great service is the starting point. Relaxed atmosphere with a fine style. Menu simple but inviting..good ingredients for Tashkent, cooked with style with a touch of passion. Interesting pianist on a Friday night, unobtrusive but a little more than background noise. Classic place that deserves a visit if you like good food served in an Italian style..

in Le Grand Plaza bldg, but independent. Also serves European and Korean food
I ordered a stir-fried style chicken that was under the Korean section and the chicken was the driest, toughest, and tasteless cubes of flesh that you could ever imagine. It tasted like the white meat was fried for an hour and cooled and then refried, it was so bad. It was so dried it was hard to swallow it. Anyone who cooks knows white chicken cubes cooks in minutes. Maybe that is why it took over an hour to be served.
The service is horrible and they don't believe in bring you change.
I really wanted to complain about an automatic 20% service charge. How insulting to have to pay that; they should pay me for ruining my meal.
Don't go there!

Semo de Roma is an Italian restaurant where you can enjoy calm and unobtrusive atmosphere. Here we have two halls: a large and light main hall with separate zones for smokers and non-smokers; and a small hall which is good for the organization of corporate parties and romantic dinners. During summer time we offer you to have a rest at open Terrace with microclimate.

Cozy restaurant with wide range of meal and drinks. European and local cuisines, free wi-fi, draught beer, local & imported wines, delivery/take away; Apropriate price and good quality. One of the best pasta and steaks in the city
Because of the excellent food and service we had dinner in Siesta for 7 consecutive days.
Some of the dishes were outstanding: the soups, the chicken with apricots, and the pepper steak. Great service by Oksana,Jane and Mariya made Siesta a very enjoyable place. We recommend this restaurant very highly.
