Visited for a midweek midday Christmas lunch with colleagues and wasn't disappointed. Food, service, speed of service and menu all great. Very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be returning ?

You simply cannot get better curry got, rendang and sweet and sour anywhere else, especially at this price! Keep up the great food!

Visited for weekend birthday celebration. Restaurant was packed to the gills so obviously very popular. Food was very good and the staff were nice and friendly. I do think though that the kitchen struggles to keep up with the number of guests. From the time of our booking to getting the main course was two hours which is way too long. I know some people prefer having their courses spread out but not for me. Would probably visit again during the week when the are not so busy.

We visited 24th March with friends who had never been to D'acqua and we ourselves had not visited for approximately 4 years when our experience had been excellent. We were seated in the waiting area and were asked if we wanted any drinks so I asked for the wine list. We ordered a Valpolicella Ripasso that was very nice and were studying the menus but the staff seemed impatient to collect our order. I had the pate, which was very moderate, and my friend and I had the Beef Wellington described as "pink" on the menu but was in fact quite red in the middle. Our friends shared the Bread Plate which they enjoyed, followed by a Beef Wellington (red again), my wife had the Penne Napoli that was very nice (I tried it) my friend's wife had the hake which she said was quite nice. I would describe the food overall as being ok, not great, but it was the overall experience that was disappointing. The staff seemed to be going through the motions, showed no interaction with us and when they had to speak to us it felt as if it was on a "need too" basis. We were 2 couples in our 60's hoping to have a pleasant night out but overall it was not an experience I will repeat. It was a massive contrast to the previous 2 visits I have had to this restaurant and I definitely will not rush to return.

Located in Sunderland city centre and only 5 minutes away from Sunderland Theatre, Roma Italian Restaurant brings a unique taste of Italian Cuisine. Roma Sunderland offers a magnificent combination of modern and classic Italian dishes, simple and delightful and are created using the best freshest ingredients.
We had a pre-theatre meal here last night with our twin boys (10). The outside doesn’t look that inspiring and the inside is maybe a little dated too but the atmosphere was fantastic! Just the right level of lighting and music. Great waiting staff (really genuine) and really tasty food (I can recommend the rosemary chicken). Good value too! We will be back.

Signatures Italian Restaurant and Grill is an ideal venue for large groups, families and couples alike with large booths and the cosy red room for romantic meals or special occasions. Our menu offers something for everyone whether you fancy something 'cheap and cheerful' or a succulent Fillet Steak (our Signature Fillet is a must). We pride ourselves on our great food and service by our friendly staff and were thrilled to be voted as one of the top 5 restaurants in Sunderland for 2012 by the Sunderland Echo. Adjoining is The Castle Bar, a modern yet relaxed bar which is ideal for enjoying pre or post dinner drinks.
Family Sunday lunch/Birthday celebration so no where better to go to locally than Signatures. The service was excellent and staff are lovely. The food was excellent of course, very well presented, very tasty and plentiful. I ordered s small Sunday lamb dinner and couldn’t eat it all! There were various choices made from the menu by the group and not one complaint. Everyone commented on how much and how good it was. Thanks Carolyn and staff. See you soon

Love this quirky, cosy little cafe! The food is delicious and at such a reasonable price!! Staff are all so friendly too. I got the ‘Straw Boater’ ...egg, bubble n squeak, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans AND tea or coffee with toast and jam. All of this for just £5.50!! Highly recommend this place! Looking forward to my next visit.
