Enjoy one of the most stunning views of the city at CAFÉ GOURMET MIRADOR. The café-restaurant, set in terraced Gardens with sun loungers, is located at the foot of the Recoleta viewpoint (Plaza Pedro Anzúres Marqués de Campo Redondo). With its 60 outdoor and 24 indoor seats, it caters for up to 84 people in a charming, relaxed setting. The menu comprises breakfast; pasta; meat dishes; salads; sandwiches; omelettes; delicious juices, prepared with only fresh fruit, as well as our famed tiramisu. Guests can also savour a cup of delightfully fragrant Illy espresso coffee and choose from a fine range of Bolivian wines.
Trekked us the hill toward the Recoleta lookout and found this great hillside café. A great reward for hiking up to a beautiful view, ‘Mirador’ serves up decent (Illy) coffee, great juices, and fine soups & snacks.
Try the tomato soup with cheese and croutons (if they are serving), and take in the long views.

El Huerto is in an unlikely location outside the main touristy areas of Sucre. It is about two and a half blocks from the old railway station at the end of Parque Bolivar. Walking there, you might even have your doubts over the restaurant, since the immediate vicinity of the restaurant is not too encouraging.
Once you enter the restaurant proper, you will find a lovely restaurant with outdoor Seating, Seating in a cloistered patio, or indoors. The menu consists of Bolivian favourites, steaks and yes, seafood! Don't expect too much from the seafood though, remember that Bolivia is landlocked.
Service is friendly, and food quality is amongst the best in town. The prices also match that, so it is likely to be your most expensive meal in Sucre.

food very good. it's sucre, not la paz, so temper your expectations. service kind and professional. a really good place for a sunday lunch. you can see the sucre families doing their thing there. it seems quintessential sucre.Thank you very much for your opinion, on Sundays it is traditional to have lunch as a family. We always try to improve to give a good service.

Despite the setting and the attractive intimacy of this restaurant, we had a disappointing dinner. Service was neither friendly nor particularly efficient, the local fillet mignon was the only good dish, the Argentinian steak, despite its inflated price, was in part gristle and the rest chewy. House wine was indifferent and then, to cap it all, the credit card machine “didn’t work”, unplugged we suspect, despite a big show by the waitress of inserting and swiping it. Not a good experience.

Tried a few lemon chocolates and cafe chocolates and they were as good as Sees Candies in the USA, something to aspire to. Bought some chocolate raisins and an almond bar to savor later. It's true. Sucre's chocolates are right up there with Swiss chocolate.

Tried one or two craft beers - weissbier & IPA, both excellent. Food good too - beef with basil sauce & pique a lo macho. Atmosphere reminiscent of Dutch brown bar.

Friendly service and delicious pasta dishes. You need to ring and order ahead for dishes like gnocchi. We've been to this restaurant a few times now and are never disappointed. Not the easiest place to find but persevere/ring for directions - it's worth the effort!

Finally got around to trying the salteñas. Overall they were pretty good and definitely tasty. Certainly not the best salteñas I've had in Bolivia but good enough to satisfy the itch. What makes this place stand out is the great outdoor courtyard patio location. A great place to people watch.

Lunch, dinner, good wines, excelent music, magnificent atenttion, atractive and colonial decoration. Only in "EL SOLAR" the Restaurant of Sucre.
The restaurant has a modern feel with attention to detail. Staff were attentive and helpful, but no English spoken. It did help having a menu in English. Unfortunately, the food didn't match. We started with the salad, which was pretty basic. I had a pork rib main - the meat was so over cooked and dry I left most of it - and my wife had pork in an orange sauce, which was over the top with orange flavour. Overall, for what we paid, we were disappointed. Maybe we chose the wrong things on that day.

Cozy coffee shop and restaurant at international standards with magnificent open air patio. Subsidiary from Abis Cafe. All we serve at Abis Cafe, we serve here as well, including lunches and dinners with excellent wines. We are mainly known for our irresistible hamburgers, variety of filet steaks, BBQ chickenwings, spareribs, meatballs in tomato sauce with Belgian fries or mashed potatoes. Everything is home-made. Quality, service and hygiene guaranteed!!!WIFI

We are temporarily closed for relocation. However, we are attending at Abis Cafe on the main plaza, Plaza 25 de Mayo, #32.
Not entirety sure why all the rave reviews. We had an early lunch here today. My wife ordered a quesadilla I ordered a ham and cheese Panini. We had a blended strawberry banana shake and a blended papaya shake. The Sandwich was decent enough but nothing Earth shattering. The quesadilla the same. It was inexpensively priced which was good but overall not terribly impressed.
