A great workteam ready to delight your palate, find us in Suances. "Near Los Locos Beach" Avda. Acacio Gutiérrez, nº159, 39340- Suances Cantabria
El Caserio is very close to the lighthouse on the promontary beyond Suances. we went there twice while staying at the Albatros and would have visited a third time were they not closed on Sundays.
The restaurant had a reasonable selection of fish visible in a chilled display inside. Service was very good and we found the staff welcoming - some English is spoken. Menu dishes include some based on weight of fish, others where you pay for the dish. Quality of food was excellent as was presentation: portions were not excessive although we were advised by our waiter that one starter between two was enough! It was, twice.
Prices are high but justified by the quality; wine prices are reasonable by restaurant standards (eg Albarino at Eu17). Expect to pay 90-100 Euros for 3 courses including wine and drinks beforehand.

Thanks to La Darsena for sitting me on a busy night without a reservation. Sadly, I was ignored for a lot of the time for bigger tables. There’s not a lot of options in Suances (or within driving distance) for dinner, most of them looked...MoreThank you for your opinion, BRH918: I apologize for the inconveniences. Admittedly we had a pretty rushed meal here as the 4 year old was tired, as was the pregnant wife but having waited 25 mins for even a drink request I was getting a bit frustrated. 1 waiter only. 3 other English tables in there...MoreThanks ginglish for the coment,i hope see you soon

This is a smarter than average restaurant popular with the shiney, swish people of Suances. Well presented seafood (the old rectangular slate plates and drizzled 'jus' indicates thay've ben watching Masterchef 2010) and a good wine list. There's an outside Terrace, a snacky area and starched white tablecloths in the restaurant.

You pay 25€ per person and can order as many dishes as you want, as long as you finish your plate. The price also includes a bottle of wine per person. The starters are delicious, but don't bother getting any of the main courses. The meat was too salted and the tuna over cooked.

A very good alternative to La Darsena (which wasn't serving food until 2100hrs). Excellent quality food and service.

If you like fish to be skilfully prepared in the most straight forward fashion, then El Marinero is your place. I had local scampi, simply grilled with oil and garlic, as a starter - a generous starter of six. The hake on my main course...MoreThank you very much for share your opinion with everybody en TripAdvisor.

It's one of those very small places that have lots of locals outside eating and drinking and make you wonder why. The reason is simple: it's cheap and the food is excellent. It even appeared on a Spanish national TV programe on Spanish tapas in Cantabria. Try it and you won't feel a foreigner!

Handy for the upper part of Suances, it has an outside Terrace on the road, indoor bar, indoor restaurant (in a fetching black and white theme) and outside rear Terrace. There's a good selection of tasty seafood, sandwiches, platos combinados etc. The small razor clams were the best I've ever tasted. Friendly staff and free wifi.

La Solita is a new Restaurant located within the Marina of Suances, in front of the Ribera beach. La Solita offers two spacious dining rooms where you can taste a wide variety of dishes of our contemporary regional cuisine while enjoying stunning views of the beach and the Mountains. Our menu highlights are seafood paellas made with fresh seafood from our live shellfish tank.
We had lunch at this beautiful Restaurant, we came across it by chance visiting the area . Its 16 km from Santander and it is well worth the visit. Menu of the day was 3 course but the first 2 courses were adequate for us . Food was excellent and the price 12 euros a head and that included wine. The facilities were spotlessly clean and so was the toilets ( always a good tell tale of owners standards )
