The boat house offers quite a varied menu, from burgers, to fried fish, to BBQ to Sunday Fried Chicken. The food is cooked to order, so don't get in a hurry! Relax and look around at all the decor. Friendly staff and atmosphere. They also have a banquet room for larger groups to gather for parties or meetings.

When relatives come to visit they always ask to go back to the Squeez Inn in Stockton, MO. It doesn't look like much inside or out, but they serve the best burgers EVER. The cheese melts and runs down on to the fryer. It comes to you with a crisp cheese "skirt". The burgers also have a large toothpick down the middle. DO NOT take it out! If you do the entire burger will fall apart. The restaurant has all kinds of crazy paraphernalia on the walls, on the table, in the bathroom, etc. The owner was a chef in California before moving to Stockton. He passed away and his widow carries on.

This is a step above the typical Midwest Tex-Mex restaurant. They offer 8 sauces, including mole. The chicken mole enchiladas were excellent and the presentation matched. The menu offers Pollo Mole Poblano, too. They even have horchata--among the best I've had. And, they have non-Mexican items, including a very good looking grilled chicken raspberry salad. Service was friendly and prompt.

Located south of Stockton on Highway 39 about 2 miles out. Reasonable food. Also, has alcohol. Has special rooms for larger groups.

Eric the Owner/Manager is the nicest person you could ever meet. He runs a great Resturant. The Buffet has a wonderful selection of food, especially on Mondays when they also have wings. The wings are flavorful and juicy. They have many different varieties bone-in and boneless. The many varieties of pizza are wonderful. They also serve Calzone and Stromboli. The Resturant has an excellent salad bar with good fresh lettuces, tomatoes, olives, pickled okra and lots of dressings and add ons. The cheese sticks are so very good. There is usually a soup available. There are sandwiches that I heard are very good. The dessert pizzas are very good. During Buffets usually Eric or another employee brings the dessert pizzas around from table to table to make sure everyone gets some. There are 3 tv's in the main eating area and there is a large game room in a separate room. We are very fortunate to have Eric and Simple Simons in our town!

We went for supper--a little after 7 (they close at 8). We were waited on promptly. She was friendly, efficient, and helpful. Our orders included a breakfast meal (eggs & bacon), one salad bar, a full salad, and 3 entrees off the dinner menu. All were cooked to order and delivered in good time. The atmosphere was pleasant in all respects. All six of us said we'd come back for any meal of the day.

We were sort of hungry, it was late. Decided to order a couple of the junior cheeseburgers. Typically, the value side of most fast food places gets second-class treatment Not at Sonic in Stockton, Missouri! These were what we said, with our mouths full, about the best drive up hamburgers we'd had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned meat, warm, grilled buns, and they got the add-ons/take-offs perfect. Now, that's customer service. And, if you've not tried the little mini hot dogs, treat yourself and have one as an add-on. Cute AND delicious!

Nothing fancy or super special on the menu but very tasty food and such nice people working at The Shack. Their French Fries are my favorites anywhere.... always crispy, just the way I like them. The burgers appear to be fresh made, not preformed and frozen. That is a plus in my book.
Their hours are mostly just for lunch and they seem to change from time to time. Best to call and check if you have not been recently.

We called ahead to inquire about the menu and were greeted on arrival by the cook who cheerfully gave us info about the ingredients in her recipes .She was very well informed and helpful.
The place has been recently remodeled and offers a welcoming. low key atmosphere.

Home cooked breakfast and special food for lunch---open Tues/Wed/Friday's only. 7 a.m. to near 3 p.m. Every thing is cooked in house and gluten free ingredients and healthy coffee, too.
