We had lunch here... Chowder was great and the chicken salad was really good too. Very tasty iced tea. Nice selection of wine. It's a very tiny restaurant. The waitstaff was very friendly. Definitely worth a return trip.Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the support. Hope to see you again the next time you are in Stockbridge. Warmly, Alan and Teresa O'Brient

We present to our customers varied collections of artisanal sweets made in America. Located here in the Berkshires, we mainly source throughout New England and into New York. We stock farm fresh milk, locally roasted coffee and hand crafted treats. One exception though--our seasonally imported Italian Gelato's arrive frozen...Serving coffees, teas, hot spiced cider, and the best Hot Chocolate in the Berkshires.
I would have to agree that the sea salt caramel is the best! However I ended up finishing my daughters chocolate and it was amazing! A little bit more pricey than regular ice cream, but that is to be expected since it's gelato! So sorry for the delayed response...Thank you for stopping in this summer to sample our Imported Italian Gelato. It's only available for the summer season and likewise, it goes so fast!

Chez Nous is a chef- and pastry chef-owned operation where the focus is on real, seasonal ingredients prepared in both modern and classic ways. We offer half portions of many items, to encourage lots of tasting and variety, and we take care to prepare as many items gluten-free and dairy free as possible, leaving lots of choices for everyone. Our 1841 house has charm and comfort, and our newly-renovated bar is the perfect place to have a local craft beer, wine from our award-winning list, or a creative cocktail, along with bar snacks, our famous pate, or anything from our dinner menu.
We were seated in a small dining room which was lovely. The service was excellent, the pace slow enough without feeling rushed, but done well.
The food is so good it's hard to describe. i had the boeuf bourgeon and the blonde sundae. What is really nice is that you can have a full plate or a half. Half was more than sufficient. The beet salad was tasty and the dash of dried figs made is quite interesting.
My friend had the same meal and we both agreed it was excellent. When the check cam I almost fainted. We had had starters, entrees, deserts and proseco and the bill was $94. There is no way in DC you could have had an even mediocre meal for that amount much one of this quality. Strongly recommend.

We are a family-owned coffee roastery, cafe and gallery located in the historic train station in West Stockbridge, MA in the beautiful Berkshires. We roast our own coffee three times a week in the cafe, serve wonderful espresso drinks from a hand-pulled lever machine, offer a pourover bar, chemex bar and over 18 different kinds of full leaf teas. We make everything in-house: from baked goods, to granola, to slow-roasted meats; and offer panini, salads and soups made from local season ingredients. We are also open for gourmet pizza, stews, salads and wine and beer on Friday nights. It's a community place with guitar, backgammon, chess and long communal tables as well as an adjoining gallery with many events and new art openings every six weeks. Hope you stop by and stay awhile.
We had this place recommended for coffee and stayed for lunch. It was a highlight of our Berkshire stay - gently hipster but with everyone from yoof to grannies eating there. The coffee was good, the food unpretentious and well prepared. The man who brought our food was a smiling delight and the interior was delightful. A thorough recommend.

Nestled in between Great Barrington and Lenox is the Berkshire Mountain Bakery in Housatonic. This is a fairly large operation as they supply baked goods to many of the restaurants in the Berkshires. They do have a small store at their main plant in Housatonic which we make a point of stopping in every time we are in the area. They offer a large selection of bread, croissants, rolls, cookies and spreads. All their items and are amongst the best we have ever had. With all there is to do in the Berkshires stopping at a bakery may not seem like a worthwhile use of time but if you stop by and sample the goods, you will be glad you did.

So, initially they were closed for lunch? at 2:30. However we found the owner out back and he offered to make us lunch. We had time, so went ahead.
We ordered according to what he said was fresh and available for that day, included freshly cooked chicken and all vegetables, salad, from the garden. It was fantastic. And the atmosphere unique and pleasant.
Although we had a great experience and the owner was quite pleasant and accommodating, offered free seconds, I would expect to find quite variable results based on availability of food, business, and just unknown factors. I would go out of my way to try this place again, however, just because it was that unique, genuine, and tasty too.
I gave all fives based on our experience, but I understand the issues mentioned in other reviews. Not a place to dine in a hurry, and sometimes that is a good thing...

My friend and I had lunch and a very good glass of wine while passing through Lenox recently. The food was excellent and nicely presented. Also appreciated the help with a wine - I told the waiter my tastes and his selection was spot on!

We are always looking for that special hometown breakfast eatery - where everybody knows your name. Following TA, we made the Cafe a stop on our itinerary. The restaurant is located on Main Street, beneath Norman Rockwell's studio from 1953 to 1957. The restaurant is seasonally decorated, our service was efficient, and our server was engaging. My wife got a unique concoction of a bacon and fried egg French toast sandwich! I got the fresh blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage, and upgraded to Vermont maple syrup. Both breakfasts were tasty and delivered to our premise of a special hometown breakfast. Coffee was hot!

A small cafe, with limited seating, this is more of a Grab & Go spot as opposed to a linger-for-an-hour spot. Choice of 3 coffee types (light to dark) and numerous teas, plus half a dozen biscotti varieties and the inevitable cookies and bottled beverages. It shares space with a tiny bookstore. If you seek a great cafe 'find' you should look elsewhere. If you need a decent cup of Joe, this will suffice.

Authentic Italian cuisine in a great atmosphere.
Now here is a restaurant where you have to be careful what you wish for because, what you order is going to be delicious but you will only need half the amount. Count on taking the rest home. Prices are reasonable $17 to $24.
