Stawell isn't where you would expect to find good Chinese food. But this place was brilliant.
The restaurant itself has zero atmosphere. It's a big, univiting shop with fluorescent lighting, laminex tables, some Dusty Chinese artefacts and a few half dead house plants.
But the food was great. It was amazing to see how much take away they were doing.

Coffee Shop withe lot. Great Cappucino, Latte, or any type of tea you like. Great food treats and will make anything you may require. Great service and very friendly staff and will make your trip to Stawell complete. Stawell is renowned for operating the largest gold mining operation in Victoria. Tenneille Peters (Onwer) will do her utmost to satisfy your eating and drinking requirements and along with her capable staff she will succeed. The BEST coffee in Stawell.
Excellent service, we did not have to wait long for our meal, after placing our order. The poached eggs with smashed avocado and goats cheese was delicious. The tomato was fried perfectly and the sourdough bread toasted just right. Our cappacino was the best I have tasted in a while. Well done.

In the area to visit the Seppelt’s Great Western Cellars before they (sadly) close down, we stayed at Diamond House as a matter of convenience. Although the room was basic, it was clean and warm … and cheap! But this review is all about the restaurant…
With a fairly limited selection of places to eat in Stawell and seeing the steaks here got rave reviews, we played the “Occam’s Razor” card and dined in at the motel restaurant. Owner David is an entertaining character who clearly loves a good debate – we found him to be convivial and lively. Ably assisted by son Ben at front of house, the duo provide a friendly but very efficient experience. We started with drinks at the cute bar and sampled a couple of starters as snacks – the pork pie was great, the damper was tasty too but a bit on the dry side. We all opted for the Angus steak and it absolutely swept us away! Tenderness, flavour and perfect cooking don’t always go hand in hand – but this meal scored all three. The steak was to-die-for tender, cooked to perfection (we all ate ours rare) and the flavour was a-maze-ing (yes, I know there’s no “e” in amazing!) The huge chunky chips that came with the steak were pronounced by all of us to be the best we’d ever tasted. The veggies were traditional but well executed. A decent bottle of wine, recommended by David, washed it all down nicely .. I’d have loved to try a dessert but we practically rolled out of the place as it was. It’s an unexpected gem of an experience to eat food this good – despite the many positive reviews on Trip Advisor, I have to admit our expectations were not overly high and we were so glad to be caught out!

Wow! What an amazing night shared by everyone who came along. The live Band named Sands & Lards involved the whole crowd and had everyone rocking to some classic music. I believe that they will be back at Easter Time, keep your eyes out on the local papers etc. You will not be disappointed!

I was on a work trip and after hitting a kangaroo on route just wanted to get to the motel for the night. So I was going to eat at the restaurant regardless. But it was such a delightful surprise to have a wonderful meal- salmon with crispy skin, put lentils and a mustard sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the sauce so tasty and the accompanying green vegetables delicious. Other meals are more typically 'pub' menu but looked good. Recently new owners including the chef are giving this place a breath of life. It would be great to see some more adventurous food get on the menu whilst keeping some locals favourites. Good affordable wine list. I would come back here again for sure.

We are a family friendly hotel/pub with 3 bars. We offer huge meals that are delicious, a sports bar and pool table. Foxtel is on 3 different TV's.
Had to stay in Stawell for 2 nights and came here to eat both nights as there wasn't a lot else available in a sleepy country town in Christmas week. Most places were closed...or just didn't exist.
However, the food was fine and they've got a decent menu with lots of choices. Friendly staff, efficient service, friendly barman. All good.
I'd come here again if I had to be in this town.

Our group of 4 ate here last weekend and were treated to a beautiful meal. The range of entrees and mains has something for everyone, with some different dishes to try.
Wait staff are friendly and efficient and sitting by the wood fire heater on a cold winter night was fantastic.
Would thoroughly recommend the dessert tasting plate to share, all desserts are homemade and scrumptious.
Treat yourself and your family/friends with a meal here, you will not regret it.

Met a friend for a quick lunch, had my daughter and grandson with me. The choice of foods was on blackboards instead of menus - quirky way to present, still lots of choice. The food was delicious, service was efficient and food arrived in a timely manner. They welcomed the baby and his needs were catered too as well. Coffee was tasty.

Lillies and Lattes Cafe and Bar a great place to meet with friends and dine in with great service and great range of food at affordable prices!
Had lunch ordered the soup a Coke Zero ( I specifically asked if the had Coke Zero ) and a small late .
I was thrown a buzzer and went to the fridge no Coke Zero when I asked the other server said oh year we don't stock Zero any more hmmmm ok my buzzer went off and I took the long walk to collect my micro zapped molten soup after leaving it for 5 mins I could taste it and it was ok ... it's been 15 mins since I ordered no coffee yet .... yes I know I could have reminded the "barister" but why should I . So just said after another 5 mins you seem to have forgot my coffee so if I could just get it to go that would be great . Well the look I got nearly turned me to stone the coffee arrive and slammed on the table . So all in all a bad experience may be les chat and more service would be good .

Great selection of food ranging from pies to freshly made sandwiches & more. Staff extremely welcoming & helpful if seeking advice, nothing is too much for them. Look forward to our next stop-over.
