The city planners in Staunton, Virginia, were very careful to preserve the town's heritage, keeping power lines and cell towers out of view in the historic districts, allowing nothing to interrupt the charm of local restaurants and shops operating out of original Victorian storefronts. Staunton is also the home to the Frontier Culture Museum, The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and the American Shakespeare Center, staging plays at the world's only replica of the Blackfriars Playhouse.

Our meal was terrific and memorable, but what really made this dinner a standout was the service. Meg was friendly and professional, informative and easygoing, and we enjoyed our visit so much because of her. The farm-to-table approach was very appealing to both of our palates-my husband is a vegetarian, I am not-and we loved every bite.

Aioli is a wonderful restaurant in downtown Staunton that is notable for both its creativity and simply terrific food.
We’ve visited Aioli several times when visiting Staunton to see performances at the Blackfriars Theater. It’s essentially a Mediterranean restaurant serving both tapas and full entrees. This restaurant has a little more of a Moroccan influence than you might see at, say, a Spanish tapas place, and that introduces a number of offerings and flavors that are well worth trying.
The exterior is unremarkable, but don't let that concern you. The location is also convenient, being just off of the primary street (I believe it's Beverly St.) through the center of Staunton. The restaurant itself is on N. Augusta street, more or less across from the movie theater.
Inside, Aioli is nicely decorated with bright oil paintings around the room and a bold color scheme with lots of red and black. It conveys a feel that is both comfortable and sophisticated. Although a relatively intimate space, the tables are not crowded together and it was easy to communicate within our group.
At our most recent visit we had the charcuterie platter, quail, bruschetta (three types), and a kind of Moroccan sheep sausage that tasted wonderful. Our service was quick.
They have many European and American wine offerings and we had no trouble finding a glass to complement our meals. The price was very reasonable given the quality of the food we received.
We would highly recommend Aioli if you are visiting the Blackfriars or if you are just looking for excellently prepared food with a distinct Mediterranean feel.

We were in town to see a play & picked this place due to Trip Advisor reviews -- and we're glad we did! Casual but comfortable atmosphere, friendly service (shout out to Rachel), and great food! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals (my wife said her salmon was grilled perfectly) and there were other wonderful aspects too -- delicious homemade bread (three types), homemade whipped butter (blackberry butter on the night we visited), & an after-dinner surprise too! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, & we will go back (we want to try the ribs).

Full service restaurant with patio seating and full bar, featuring authentic Thai cuisine and drinks. Our diverse and flavorful menu has something for everyone, from mild to hot, vegetarian or not. Our friendly staff awaits the opportunity to serve you in a truly traditional atmosphere with Thai decor. Carry-out and delivery available.
Immediately caught off guard by the ridiculous prices. As if those weren't enough, they automatically add in a 20% tip and the service wasn't that good. To cap off the trip, several in our family that usually love Thai food decided maybe they don't even like it anymore after eating here. I know Staunton doesn't have a lot of choices, but certainly avoid this place!

Family and friends have raved about this restaurant, so I was really looking forward to going. The decor is really fabulous and makes for a fun outing. I think my selection for dinner just turned out to be a poor choice. The Jagerschnitzel consists of three slabs of breaded pork fillet which totally covered my plate, drenched in mushroom and onion gravy. For me, it was too much of one thing. I would have preferred less meat and a bit of potatoes on my plate. And I wasn't wild about the family-style side dishes. Another reviewer said that the green beans tasted like they came from a can and I agree. For dessert, we split a cheesecake three ways and it was divine. I wish I had more room for dessert!

Saturday, January 13, 2018 Late evening seating This restaurant was recommended by an employee at our hotel. The service was very good; attentive but not intrusive. Food was very good; not great, but very good. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

We needed to take a lunch break while touring the historical homes and sights of Staunton, and the Pampered Palate looked like a cute local place for lunch. We enjoyed the local atmosphere....many people seemed to be regulars.
There is a dining area upstairs in addition to the tables downstairs. I discovered the upstairs as the ladies' room is located there!
Service was friendly and efficient. We each ordered a glass of a local wine at a reasonable price to go with our luncheon sandwiches. My husband's Crowle, Turkey with muenster, had fresh ingredients, but the multi-grain French bread overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. I can't remember exactly what version of a Turkey sandwich I had on a Kaiser roll, but every bite was delicious! Both of us chose fresh fruit as the side to our sandwich. Our side of cole slaw was very tasty!
We greatly enjoyed our lunches.
