I was really appreciative of the attentiveness of the staff. We were immediately greeted, and while the employee was cleaning off a table, another staff member came over and greeted us. Once seated, our drink order was taken and brought immediately. The menu has a wide variety of options for breakfast, and these options were reasonably priced. The portions were hardy, and I loved the fact that the toast was actually served with color to it. Well worth the visit!

The staff were very welcoming and appeared to enjoy their job. There were 10 of us for breakfast. Food was plentiful and delicious. We also picked up banana cream pie to go. To die for?

Finally a great little café in Spring Grove. Wonderful décor and relaxing atmosphere. Large selection of baked treats for a snack and a variety of sandwiches and a soup of the day for lunch. Stop in a give yourself a treat.

Been here a couple times now... Great atmosphere. Have not been disappointed! Great food. Reservations suggested as it can get really busy. Had the lobster bites, and eggplant and chicken dish... Was wonderful.

Every time I am anywhere near McHenry, I head for the Riverside Bake Shop. I love their cinnamon raisin bread (they'll slice it for you) brownies, and butter cookies. But I'll also load up on their donuts, apple bread, and hamburger buns. They have daily specials, their prices are extremely reasonable, and there's street parking. It's a small place and crowded on weekend mornings. So delicious...

Lived in the area for45 years and knew of this Saloon but never stopped in until friends recommended it. Great Fish Fry and the potato pancakes (a stable with any good fish fry) were great. Watch the timing.. If you arrive and order before 4:00PM you can choose the luncheon fish fry which is cheaper but NOT AYCE. As I am no longer a "competition eater" ;-) there was more than enough food for me and I saved a couple of bucks. The fish was great too.

Stop there on the way home from work to pick up a little treat. Always fresh and filling. Donuts are home made and nice and heavy. Fresh breads as well as home made rye with or without seeds Coffee cakes nutty or fruity have a good thick filling with great toppings. Cookies, rolls, paczki all excellent. At times has homemade soups and home made pierogi. Great coffee. Stop there before the train ride to downtown.(right across from the Fox Lake Metra Station. Owner Felicia always friendly and helpful. Just 1 block east of rt.12 at the lite.

Went here two mornings for their Breakfast Buffet and it was pretty good. Excellent service and reasonable price. Food could have been a little warmer but it was doable. There is also an omelet chef if you want an omelet. Ask for the senior discount.

Was in the area Route 31 in McHenry and saw a sign for Brunch Cafe. Pulled into the strip mall and found it in the rear of the strip mall. All I can say is SUPERB service and food selection. Had a special that was unique and very good. Plan to go out of my way to go again.

Some of the greatest food can be found in the not-so-popular-restaurant neighborhoods. And even better, some of the coolest experiences and people. We had passed this place a million times and always said that we would stop but somehow it never happened until a few weeks ago. This place can be jam packed on a warm summer weekend but in the middle of winter it's a little less crowded. But that doesn't mean that food is sub par. The burgers are amazing and very big. Theses burgers can be shared, unless of course you are a major carnivore. The burgers are cooked perfectly and are juicy and very satisfying. We ordered the Mushroom burger and the Widow Maker. Fortunately, I was not made a widow! HOWEVER, this burger packs a whole lot of everything that can kill you....bacon, cheese, fried egg but the flavors together were a home run. The mushroom burger was excellent with great seasoning on the mushrooms. I could not finish the burger but my better half did a great job finishing his. The people here are friendly and the atmosphere is very casual. They work hard here and don't skimp on anything. There are nice beer selections on tap and the burgers scream for a nice "cold one". Our server also recommended the reuben sandwich and we will be back to try that. Sometimes we get in a rut when we go out to eat, but some of the best eats are when we step out of the box and try something different.
