This is a great place for an outstanding brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
Good selection that is more than ample with everything from standard breakfast items, salad, a few entre selections and deserts.
You just can’t go wrong and multiple trips to the food is encouraged.

J. Gilbert's is an "upscale casual" steakhouse serving prime-aged beef cooked over a mesquite wood-fired grill. Guests enjoy various cuts of steak, fresh seafood (including award-winning crab cakes) & other house made favorites like the Maytag Blue potato chips & chocolate velvet cake. The cozy atmosphere includes fire side dining, rich wood, brick & soft lighting where you can enjoy dinner for two or host a large party. The extensive martini & wine list offers the perfect compliment to an excellent meal delivered with attentive service. J. Gilbert's is open for dinner seven days a week, beginning at 4pm. Reservations are highly recommended.
We ate here again and they revised their 1/2 price wine on Mondays and now I will give this restaurant an EXCELLENT review. The food is awesome and the staff is professional and courteous. My favorite restaurant in Glastonbury.

I ordered bagels and pastries from Harpo's Bakery for my son's after-wedding brunch. Everything was amazing! The mini muffins were moist and delicious and cinnamon buns just melted in your mouth. You would think that a plain bagel would be just like any other plain bagel, but my guests kept saying these were particularly delicious. It was great that all the items could be ordered in the mini size - that way guests could sample all the flavors. From the staff who took my order to the prompt delivery, the service was very personal and professional. I am so happy I thought of Harpo's Bakery for this very special event.

Modern American cuisine..All fish served wild caught, never frozen.. All beef products grass fed . ( Piedmontese beef line from Nebraska.. All vegetable hand sourced from Exec chef Lucas Kyriakos..
My husband and I had dinner here on a Friday night and it was wonderful! From the atmosphere to the service and food, everything was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the chili nachos appetizer, which was enough for several to share. The salmon was expertly prepared with a nice brown crust and perfectly cooked interior. We even splurged on dessert and the tiramisu was absolutely worth it! We will definitely be returning soon!!

This was a gathering of friends and the evening was very nice. The rooms are a bit crowded and rather noisy but the food is good and the wait staff is friendly and efficient. We particularly enjoyed the appetizers and the wine list, which was varied and reasonably priced.

SoG is a fantastic gathering place in the quiet South Glastonbury village. Located just a short distance from the Glastonbury /Rocky Hill Ferry, SoG is located on Rt17 next to Gardeners Market
Their coffee is professionally fresh roasted daily. Besides great tasting coffee choices with multiple brews available through the day there are fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit and other hit choices such as daily soups etc.
Overall a fantastic place for your daily grind or if you are just passing through...The professional Baristas always have a bright smile.....

Get there early. This place fills up quickly with regular locals on Saturday. Seems like everybody knows each other there. The reason they are so popular is the very good food, great service and lightning fast kitchen. The meat lovers omelette is prepared pillow style with a nice portion of meats and cheese and is very good. The 12 grain toast is good and the coffee is great. The server was friendly and prompt. She also did the follow-up on the entree and round 2 on coffee.

We went for dinner. There was a wait--so we tried to get Margaritas from the bar. The bar was crowded, and it took lots of patience--but we finally got served. Drinks were ok but for unknown reasons, they do not serve frozen Margaritas--you have to have them on the rocks. Ok, but not my favorite. We were seated in the dining room. it was so noisy, I could hardly hear my friend speaking to me across the table. It was very hot, and then very cold. So the HVAC system has a problem which does not result in comfort for the customers. The food was ok but not very flavorful. Nice little spot, but the food and ambiance needs improvement to be better.

We heard on T.V. that for National Clam Chowder day today Max was selling their clam chowder for $4 a bowl and donating the proceeds. So we stopped in for a quick bowl at the bar. The chowder was delicious with lots of tender fresh clams and not too many potatoes. Creamy broth was spiked with a hint of Tabasco for a slight kick. Really good. We didn't want drinks, just the chowder, but the service was still attentive and the bartender did not make us feel awkward about not ordering drinks. While we were there we took note of the nice brunch menu and vowed to return when we are looking for a full meal.

I ordered the bison burger for the second time. It is by far the best burger I have ever tasted. Everything looked good on the menu. The prices are a little high, but it is well worth it.
